We've conceded 4 goals from individual errors this season. Twice as many as any other team in the division.

Wilder must be fuming. To play as we're doing as a unit and defending so well only to throw that hard work and graft away must be incredibly frustrating.

We were fortunate that more of our errors didn't lead to goals today. Mainly from the midfield but Stevens dropped a bollock as well. The midfield has been sloppy all season. Norwood especially.

We're making far more errors than last season. Yes, we're playing against much better teams and much better players but I don't think we're being forced into making them. Even little errors by the forwards today meant that we weren't holding the ball up and it was coming straight back at us.

We don't seem to relax. We're incredibly jittery in some games and often we're either too slow to move a ball on and lose it or hit aimless passes just to get rid of the ball. I don't know whether it's nerves or not but I'd kill for a player like Coutts in his prime who could use his body to retain possession and relaxed the rest of the players around him.

We've competed in every game, which is fantastic. We've got results which have surprised me. We've got a team which is now playing against the best players in the world and competing. The defensive 5 have been immense for us. I'd just hate to see all this hard work and effort undone time and again. If we don't pull our socks up I fear we'll be looking at a relegation scrap.

Could well be. My concern is that if we lose a player of two to injury we're going to struggle. Leon coming on today show what an injury and suspension to two strikers does to us. Imagine losing Fleck or JoC for a few months... I think every point is going to be vital for us.

Agree with that, there's not much backing the 1st team up. Maybe in January we might see some Saudi money to help us on our way.

I also think we're nowhere near good enough of clearing balls up-field which give the striker a chance and the strikers have been poor at keeping possession and moving us upfield. We've got two big strikers on and caused little danger in the air or on the ground.

We aren't playing the likes of Rochdale this season, these sides are worth hundreds of millions so we aren't going to match up with posession. Like I said we could be still unbeaten this season, the possession from the opponent hasn't hurt us at all this season so far, it's when we are in possesion we fall down.

Goals aside, there have been a number of others too. Especially giving the ball away in dodgy areas. We did it 4 times at least today.

If there isn't a safe pass on, just hoof it towards there cornerflag. Stop faffing around.

It's something that definitely needs addressing... I'm gonna sound boring by repeating it, but it shows we need a CB in there with prem experience. Splash the cash on Calum Chambers. I think I say that in every similar thread, so apologies for sounding like a boring arse by banging on about him.

The reason they get so much possession is because our players lack composure and shit themselves everytime they get the ball and play hot potato. It's been the story of our season overall.

I'm not daft. It is the Premier League and the standard of opponent is very high, but the players need to relax more when they've got the ball. They rush and can't wait to offload it.

I'd have expected to lose to Leicester and Liverpool.

We lost to Leicester via a wonder goal. Should have been 1-1.

We lost to Soton as we failed to take our many chances. Fair result.

We lost today through a goalkeeping individual error. Should have been 0-0.


There's nothing to worry about yet. We've lost 2 of our 4 games to opponents favoured to finish in the top 4/6.

I don't think we do but I do think we could do with going back to the system that worked for us last season. A flat 3 in midfield does not create as much.

We're looking to play as a counter-attacking team this season, which is shrewd, but I wonder if this lack of possession means that every time some of them get the ball they're a bit more on edge? I think we saw it with Hendo today. Nothing much to do and your concentration levels drop. We're undoubtedly giving teams too much respect as well.
