The performance vs Crewe was dire , it's not about the winning goal..
or a under par performance , saw chelsea draw at home to burnley , didnt see Mourinho go off alarming , cant be good every game , even when you cost 700m to put together

didnt we have a stonewall pen turned down 2 minutes before their superb winner , fine margins

Was it really that bad? Glad I went to the match. I am grateful to Foxy and Linz for the shoutbox but there are some really negative people who are supposed to be Blades. Glad I am going to Oldham too next week!

The shoutbox is really cringeworthy on match days. There are a few in there who should take Pinchy's lead and boycott it, for their own sake.

We've run out 2-0 winners having been 3-0 down in the Shout Box before kick off. Amazing scenes!

Just got home so first chance to add to your post JD.

I saw the pre-match comments come rattling off the keyboards thick and fast. It rarely takes much to bring the vociferous anti-Clough wrist slashers out of their shells, and today we had some pearlers that were found to be as substantial as an incorrect weather forecast. The comments today were right up there with some of the very worst, uninformed views I've seen this season. There's a parrot-like capacity for repetition that borders on Tourettes amongst some of the more gloomy naysayers. I know we've not had quite the season that some had predicted, but equally we're not doing as badly as some would lead you to believe.

Anyway, a great day, a clean sheet, and a cracker of a goal scored by one of the maligned tartan dwarves. Sounds like Davies is fitting in well, and I couldn't feel more pleased with taking the Barnsley to the cleaners.

Oh, mustn't forget.....well done Nigel, all that negativity and we still won, who'da thunk it? UTB

Quality post :)

Weird, I don't think that anyone was too impressed when they saw the team sheet today. I'm sure many others shared my view that we would approach the game ultra-defensively with a primary aim of not losing.

But it sounds like we were the better side, came forward often and were rarely troubled. Maybe this game shows that Clough, on a good day, knows more than we do about how to approach a game?

Exactly.

I thought we would get turned over when I looked at the team sheet but as always with the Blades they surprise me. These kind of wins are the best, you think we are on for nothing and then turn in one of best performances of the season.

It's part of being a Blade. :)

Quite right bri, but if you'd seen the deluge of comments once the team was announced you'd have thought the white flag of surrender had been raised by those who see nothing positive in Clough's team selection. It never crosses their mind that injuries might decide who plays where, but hey ho, what does that matter, let's allow drama to take precedence over the facts.

Well done mate, yours is exactly the type of comment I'd hope to see when the Blades are about to play. Pity others on here can't follow your lead.

Cheers mate I fully agree with your comments, I'm always one to big up the team rather put them down.
