My guess would be someone that's getting rattled by one of the directors or some similar senior role within the club. Possibly one closer to first team affairs actually seeing as the line up kept getting leaked.

Press tell us info when it has been OK'd by the club, e.g it can be counted as being official. Anything else they do is speculation. It may be speculation dressed up as unequivocal fact, but it is speculation nonetheless. If this person is in the employ of the club, (or close to someone who is) with access to sensitive information, then they absolutely should not be disclosing it before it goes public.
