In praise of Mccabe

Think with all this Kevin McCabe discussion .

Hassell , Hinchliffe , McDonald , Woolhouse , Brieley ( not in any order ) , McCabe . I know who I would want in the chair .

Forget the bad luck Sydrome he comes out with . Bollocks , but McCabe is the man .

Poor decisions , bad advice , management , shit team managers has caused our demise over the years . However give me McCabe any day of the week .

Sequence of events and self gratification have now changed for the good .

Wilder being the catalyst not McCabe or Prince .

Received a bit of flack for my post about KM yesterday and the pigs resolve to hold on to forrestieri, with some seemingly suggesting I was a closet owl which is absolute cat bollocks.

So in the interest of balance, ill make the points that KM:

1. HAS put over £90m of his and his families money into the club

2. Built and kept funding our academy

3. Been excellent with the ticket prices, which if he hadn't had done could've seen our fanbase decimated, given the tripe on show

4. Was decent enough to do the Q n As in person time n time again.

5. Whilst he's tried to blame too many things on bad luck. He did provide the funds for us to bring in the likes of Baxter, James wallace, cuvelier, Brayford and god knows what kind of wages the likes of Edgar, Sammon, Hammond and Woolford were on. That level of investment should've been enough to see us build a good team. He's made some stinking errors but he's also had a lot of bad luck.

6. He got us Chrissy Wilder

UTB and Fuck Wednesday

Point number three is very well made. As an over 60 beneficiary I would have to pick my matches if prices were higher. I feel valued and engaged by the club and loving being a Bladey Blade again. Can't stop thinking about the Blades these days

I'd also add, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!

How many would love some Chinese investors to take over and chuck £100m at the playing squad? Not looking so great for Wolves though:-

"The former Aston Villa and Blackburn manager is thought to be unhappy with the club's stance on new signings and is refusing to accept a proposed influx of unknown foreign players.

Lambert was keen to buy a core of British players this summer, along with a couple of signings from abroad recommended by Jorge Mendes - the super-agent who has close links to Wolves owners Fosun.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, Newcastle defender Grant Hanley and Tom Lawrence, who impressed on loan at Ipswich from Leicester, were all targets for the Scot.

But Telegraph Sport understands Lambert has been informed that Mendes will be handling all player recruitment this summer, which has left him seriously considering his future ."

Imagine if it were CW threatening to walk because our new owners have been sweet talked by George Mendes, Mino Raiola or some other mercenary twat ,who doesn't give a toss for the Blades......

M'lud.

In defence of McCabe, who eventually managed to bring in some cash while retaining a major say in the running of the club. And in support of the case against major investment (in clubs other than, er, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd) by rich people from beyond these shores who know absolutely bugger all about our game, I submit recent exhibits A-H:-

Orient
Blackburn
Forest
Birmingham
Cardiff
Wolves
Dirty Leeds
Pork

The defence accepts that McCabe has repeatedly ballsed things up, and that when your leadership is grounded in random decision-making and abrupt U-turns you may sometimes produce good outcomes despite your leadership, rather than because of it. But at least Sheffield United isn't now run from a chicken farm 5,000 miles away, or from a psychiatric ward in Italy.

AND we're back on an upward curve.

The defence rests, M'lud.

No Chinese "Investors" for me ta. Though they use the term investors we may like to consider the activities of such "Investment " in N.Z.
I know it's not Apples with Apples however they bought a Kids holiday camp on the Karikari Peninsula promising to invest in local jobs/economy etc but having purchased it turned it into an exclusive Golf Resort, brought in every employee from China and all profit goes back to China. All this at the expense of impoverished families with kids who have little choice already.

While I am not suggesting this as a template for foreign investment we need to be careful what we wish for.Better the devil we know for me. At least he has balanced some devilish traits let's say with more Angelic ones.We all have our flaws after all.
