So, with a performance and commitment like that tonight, totally out of the blue, who were the player's trying to impress. Have they been told something about somebody ?

To be honest....they ALL showed a great attitude...defended as a team and attacked as a team.
So reminiscent of last season... It was nice to see Basham roving forward....and altho we did a lot of defending we always looked comfortable.
We played as though it was a do or die match where as Everton played as though it was a pre season friendly.....and we made them look really poor.

The change in formation and personnel tonight allowed our ageing midfield to press and counter with real effect,something we haven’t been able to do all season and our threat from wide areas was like old times.The tactical change was so stark that you may be excused for thinking that a new face has had a big input tonight…….if so it is good news !!
