As suggested in THIS THREAD... a few people seemed keen on having a monthly image challenge.

Obviously, Morgs has had his time, so does anyone want to make a suggestion as to who should be 'shopped in September's challenge? :)

How about this?

Just a suggestion, but full body shots are much more versatile for manipulation.

This one maybe?

Vote for Quinny so far for me. Don't think it needs to be a specific picture, just a specific person or thing.

Yeah... it's easier and gives more variety if it's just a subject rather than an individual picture.

Gems like that Morgan picture are hard to find :D

We'll decide which idea we think has got the most potential and then kick off a thread a week today :)

Oh, and I would have it shorter than a month. Think people would lose interest after a week. So maybe a fortnight?

Aye... as that's fine by me :)

What about this one.

The man who put the C word into Scunthorpe.

yeah every two weeks is a great idea i think there should be one person who just decides on the pic and announce it at the beginning of every two weeks. such as an administrator.

A consideration for the Site Mods to ponder, anyone who posts photos on this "competition" should ensure they have the rights to use and modify the photos submitted.

There is a bunch called Corbis and Getty who are enforcing their copyright of Photos used on the Internet.

See here

Just sumat to consider .....

If needs be, we will make one of our own pictures available to edit but it is a very valid point.

Apparently, the people involved with the OS have been chasing on Bladesmad too.

Hmmmm, it does indeed make life tricky and such a competition almost untenable. That said, if a photo is edited enough, it will be near impossible to identify its source.

Can't see it being an issue really. Bigger forums such as 365 and b3ta get away with it, so I can't see there being even the dimmest spotlight shined over here.

Companies such as Getty embed code in their images, this means they can easily search, find and identify photos which they have claim on copywrite.

Which means a bill will be in the post

As best I know, any image without a watermark and saved under a different name (especially not linked directly from the original host), cannot be located by a piece of 'code'.
