I know it's a horrible thing to say, but we need a bastard in the changing rooms! We need a man who doesn't take no shit and is as ruthless as Sylvester Stallone. We need passion and most importantly, someone who has recently "done it" in League 1. Adkins possibly going? Who knows. But the man to replace him if the above happens, should be Steve Evans!

Please can we not say we need a bastard in the changing room. That's a horrible and beastly thing to say. And Sylvester Stallone was acting out a script of ruthlessness, not really being ruthless.

I might be wrong but I don't recall Evans criticising players though, unlike Megson as you say. I think Evans methods undeniably work, hence all the promotions! If Adkins goes Evans would be my choice. I actually think our fans would grow to love him, especially during derby games because he does big up the club he managers.

I think his methods can be effective. But so can other, less offensive methods. I think he'd have about as good a chance as any other manager we might get of getting us up. But he's just such a nob. Blames everyone but himself, behaves in an incredibly undignified way. I just really don't like the guy if I'm honest. Give me Nigel Adkins over him any day.

Yep I think you might be right. It seems this "basket case"of a club can only be truly undetstood by a "basket case" of a manager. . . . errrm,he also has a good CV.

I want Adkins to stay but I've followed Steve Evans career since he was at Boston. He just stood out as a manager who was going places. What you say about Evans is just Warnock mark 2 isn't it! Like it or not the only two managers to have long term success In my time are Harry and Warnock, as opposed to softer, nice football types. That said I want Adkins to stay and be given time to build.

I remember saying (to retorts of Pig fan, c@nt, wind up merchant etc) "at least when we sing there's only one Danny Wilson, I know I backed him from the start"! If we grew to love Wilson, who granted is a likeable guy, then we would like Evans especially when he'd get us promoted. If Adkins goes, Evans bar, none is the best candidate.

Fair enough mate, I respect what you say but I just can't abide the guy. For me, I agree that Wilson seeming like a good guy did help.

At least you are coming up with an alternative so fair play for that. I'm really wracking my brain to come up with someone realistic. At the time of his appointment, I was fully on board with Adkins although my first choice would have been Warburton.

Now, I dunno, just feel like a whipped dog with it all at the moment!

I agree dane, I absolutely hated him at rovrum, give me NA over him any day, however I would be prepared to accept someone who got us up and got the old excitement back, and then sack the fat bastard, p.s. Yes I am feeling much better thanks, smego and EVO, hold on wheres that bucket.
