Im sick of blackwell and his hoof ball non tactics

Im sick of his inability to win a big game

Im sick of mccabes lies and treating the fans like idiots

Im sick of watching montgomery being fucking shit every week

Im sick of quinn whos not much better

Im sick of blackwells double standards

Im sick of there being good players out there, that we dont even try and get

Im sick at the fact that its not going to change whilst blackwell is manager

We go 9 unbeaten, against the likes of charlton, orient, norwich etc.. first time we come up against anyone that can play a bit of football, we get shown up for what we are

tonight was an embarrassment!

I think we were crap today, but looking forward to going to Preston on Saturday... in the hope that we can get something out of what will be a very difficult game.

Why pick Montgomery all the time? did anyone play well today?

By the way, were you one of the many that booed him for heading the ball.... When Mr Howard failed to shout for it, failed to move and then saw an opportunity to scapegoat him? The player who'd been running about all the match had already moved on to try and win the ball back when Howard was still deciding how best to absolve responsibility.

Perhaps you should suggest some of these to the club, because I can't think of many out there that are available that we haven't already had a bash at getting :(

really? im not looking forward to it, we will get an even bigger beating

really? im not looking forward to it, we will get an even bigger beating

I look forward to every Blades match, whether or not I'm confident of us winning.

weather howard shouted or not, montgomery could have just brought it down on his chest rahter than heading it straight to their player.

And off the top of my haid, just thinking about 2 clubs

Wellens
Stock
Pratley
Butler

4 players that would improve our midfield from smaller clubs than us in this league

if i could be bothered to put 10 minutes into it, i could come up with 15 players, because lets face it, its not hard to improve our midfield

there is one sat on the bench ffs, get hendrie on hes the only one at the club that doesnt shit himself when the ball comes to him

What you look forwards to seeing the blades get totally out played ???
cos if we play like that again we will be over and over again

I didn’t think Monty was as bad as Quinn by a mile.
I don’t blame the strikers really either it's the service.
If I was blackwell id play sharp and ward up front how you going to play satellite football then make them play it on the ground.

weather howard shouted or not, montgomery could have just brought it down on his chest rahter than heading it straight to their player.

If he'd have tried to bring it down on his chest he'd have gone straight through Howard anyway.

Did you count how many times Monty gave the ball away today? How many bad passes he made? I'll give you a clue, it was less than Mr Stock who you mention (who I happen to rate).

I'd have started Hendrie alongside Monty today instead of bringing Quinny straight back in.

Yeah but for every bad pass stock makes, he will make 5 good ones

Montgomery makes a good pass for every 5 bad ones

I can understand where people are coming from with Monty. I myself have defended him on this very site and in countless conversations. Both tonight and Saturdays game have just left me with nothing to defend. Ok he made 3 good tackles tonight....im not talking about the ones midfielders make in general, but other than them, there were 3 i can remember. But...im sick of us playing a midfield that are completely unable to pass a football. This is as much at Quinn as Monty. Hendrie...in fairness is probably a prick and a big time charlie, but he can pass a football! Howard to can pass a football if given half a chance!

But lets be honest....we could have Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, even fucking Kaka! but they would be no good in our midfield when all they'd do is stand watching Morgan, Naysmith, Killgallon and Kenny kick it straight over their heads to Henderson, who then either heads it down or chests it down, both of which end in a loss of possession because Sharps stood 30ft away wondering whether he should make a run or not.........

Yes, we've had 9 games unbeaten, but against very mediocre teams. We've been watching the shame rubbish for several weeks, I said on saturday, if we play like that in our next 3 matches we'll lose all 3......and we're 1 in 1 so far....

Also...can I start a campaign for Halford to play in the middle? I dont care whos on the right, i just think he'd be ideal in the middle.

oh i forgot to mention....my highlight of the night, was in the second half...we got the ball in the box (might have been from a corner) there defender headed it clear, it came to Monty at the hedge of the box, unmarked a decent amount of space........

and he leapt forward and power headed it out wide by 10ft.

Make your mind up mate. You can't say they can't pass a ball based on watching them not be able to due to tactics ...... yup. Hendire may well be a Big Time Charlie, but I think he realises that that year at Aston Vile is a long time ago now, and he needs to knuckle down. Maybe he should have a starting role.

I'd prefer one to get him played in defence, where I think he's much more effective. Didn't he make his name at Colchester as a centre-back? I could have sworn that that was where he played when St Neil was reportedly after him to start off with.

He's not a winger, and I don't think he has the guile to play in the middle.

Seen as it was at a height where he had to streatch and jump to head it I think bringing it down on his chest was out of the relms of possibility.
What did you thin of Monty's coss inthe second hal for Relish to head?
Or the 4 clean takles he ade in the area to stop goalscoring chances?
or the pass with the outside of his botin the irst half that gave us a good attack?
or when he jinked past two Donny players in the middle of the park and layed th ball off simple?
or all the breaking up of their midfield play?
or the amount of pitch he covered to close down Donny players?
Or did you not notice him doing any of these things because I certainly did.

You mean the header that was meant fr Morgan at the far post but unfortunately Morgan moved backk to avoid being offside?
That one? It went straight to where Morgan had just been before it bounced out fro a goal kick.

The only thing you can do if you're sick of United is do as any customer does... walk away.

It's unfortunate, but it's the truth.

I'm not sick of Sheffield United, I am sick of inept performances. And for crying out loud Monty was not the worst player out there tonight, can any one tell me the point of Billy Blunt? Yes Monty could pass better but his defending is a sgood as we have at the moment. On the header mix up with Howard, it was Howards fault he was behind Monty why didnt he call?

What I am though is bored with it all, we are a poor side who might just have used up all our luck this season.

I didn’t think Monty was as bad as Quinn by a mile.

Agree totally

26,000 people could see that Quinn was having a bad game from about 10 mins in, we could also see that lumping the ball up to 3 big defenders was failing miserably, again after about 10 mins so WHY couldn't Blackie see that until an hour had gone and we were 1 down?

when ever paople mention monty its always look at the amount ground he cover breaking play up. Running about breaking play up isn't good enough, you've got to be able to do somethin with the ball after and he doesn't, all good players in that position can release the ball when they've won it and start an attack or keep possesion he cant, if he has the ball longer than 10secs he panics, how many times did he break play up against donny? not many cos they just passed the ball round him. i'm not blaming monty for the defeat cos quinn in my opponion was worse, maybe thats why we were bypassin the midfield cos nothin was coming from it when they did get the ball.

All this 'he could of done this' and 'this player was worse than that player' is just trivial. Putting Monty up against Stock is a complete mismatch and he will always look pisspoor in the match up. It just goes to show the poorness of our midfield.
Name your cliche we were embarrasing yesterday, what suprises me is how shocked and appalled the idiots sat near me were! Weve been playing like dog s**t for a while, but playing against sides where we can get away with it. It just went to show when we played a decent footballing side we had no answers whatsoever. Donny competed better in every area of the park. O'Driscoll got his formation and tactics right, bang, 2 men on Henderson every time the ball comes into the box & putting Jamie Ward on (hoping for the best) was another mistake, as its to early for him and he was completely out of sink with the other players. Most of the players were poor though tbf.
So far we have failed in the Transfer market, weve replaced our best striker with the Towns best striker, which to me isnt improvement & we're in desperate need of quality midfielders & a striker, non of which I think we'll get in the 4/5 days left of the transfer window.
Yesterday should be a wake up call......
But What annoys me is that the problems are evident for all to see, but nothing at all is being done about it. Problems are being glazed over by slim victories and whenever a point is being made you always get 'but we havent lost in 9' and 'but your fourth in the league'. Dont get me wrong no-one is more happier than me that we're in fourth, but the game is about forward thinking the next game and the next game and the next. It seems that no-one at United has any foresight we just wait for the issues/problems to bite us in the backside by which time theres nothing we can do about it.

The way some of you defend montgomery is pathetic, itsmlike a kid defending his favourate player no matter what he does

when are you going to wake up? we will go NO WHERE with nick fucking montgomery FFS get a grip and a reality check will some of you!!

The bloke cant play football. end of.

Im seriously starting to think some of you are on a wind up now, or you really just havent got a clue.

Unnecessary and uncalled for.

If you don't want to read other people's opinions, then you don't go on forums. You sit in a dark room and talk to yourself.

If you do want to read other people's opinions, you respect them.

Solomon, your the one who needs a reality check.

Monty made several good tackles last night and covered a few times for the invincible MR Naughton when he got caught out of position.

He also made a couple of good crosses that the strikers should have done better with.

He also got onto the wing and won us a corner...which is where Halford should have been.

Oh and Gregblade, your complaining about our midfield not being able to pass? But then you also want Halford in the middle? He was the worse player out of the lot for bad passing last night.

An embarrassing performance without a doubt. The better team won, and it is looking worrying for us.

I've always thought it that in this league consistency is something nobody can buy. We draw at Wolves but lose at home to Donny (OK they are a great footballing team but the table doesn't lie).

With regards to Monty. Well done lad-one of our better players last night with Quinny, Halford, Naysmith and the like all playing below-par. I am worried about our approach and tactics, because we should be trying to outplay anybody we come up against in this league. Nothing changed on that pitch from minute 1, to minute 90, last week, to this week. Our game is consistent and consistently poor. We are far too predictable and unfortunately with our 'easy' run of games these problems haven't been noticed and I now fear it's too late to do something.

The team needs to change, the players need a kick up the arse because our promotion challenge will fail if things do not change pretty sharpish.

Still, we are fourth in the league, and there's time to eradicate the problems and mistakes from last night and previous weeks. Oh, and Blades, we haven't yet lost to the snortbeasts from S6.

It is only one game. There's still time.

Monty isn't the Antichrist people like to think he is. The bloke sat next to me last night said, roughly, a fucking waste, the worst player he'd ever seen, not fit to wear the shirt, should never play for the club again, and all that kind of stuff.
Kyle Naughton on the other hand could do no wrong, even when he clearly did.

It's not all black and white. Some Blades expect Monty to play like Zico or Zidane, and give him shit when he doesn't, yet clap other players who are having a stinker of a game.
For me Monty should be the kind of player to harass and break up the opponent's midfield play, and when he wins the ball play a simple pass to another United player. I'll admit that he doesn't always play an inch-perfect pass, but if you watch him closely and with an open mind you might just have a change of mind. He does defend, and he does pass the ball well, just not every single time. He's not a player in the Johann Cruyff mould, so why should people get all arsey when he isn't?
And last night there were several players on the pitch who were worse.

i dont expect montgomery to play like zidane, because he cant. i dont expect him to be in the fucking team, because he isnt good enough.

Doncaster rovers have a midfield that is 10 times better than our central midfield ffs DONCASTER ROVERS, yet all is fine with you, keep going with monty ahh he puts a tackle in its all alright

WAKE UP

Monty & Quinn

v

Wellens & Stock

its such a miss match it is laughable!

Defending Montgomery you lots on a wind up surely, seen better pub players.

Completely disagree. Halford didn't have his greatest game, but he wasn't the worst for bad passing last night. The worst 2 passers for us last night were Quinn and Monty.

Halford, IMO is quite capable of playing in the middle of the park, he can do the tackling part (probably not as good as monty) but can also do the footballing part (probably alot better than Monty does).

Its not so much the players I was annoyed with last night, it was the tactics more than anything. Doncaster haven't spent a fortune on their team, those midfielders they've got were put together for peanuts. But clearly the work they do on the training pitch counts for something on match days.......

I want to know what we're doing in training to be playing like that......

Given the right coaching and tactics, players like Quinn and Monty would improve and get better......

After watching 2 appauling performances on the trot I hope to see some changes at Preston. I'd like to see Halford played in the middle, with one of Howard or Hendrie. I'd like to see Danny Webber play upfront, where he belongs, not out on the left where he looks uncomfortable. I actually think, if he's going to play a striker on the wing, it should be Sharp. He works harder than Webber, which is a trate best suited to midfielders and on a few occasions this season hes put some good crosses in.

Out of Howard or Hendrie if they were to come it would have to be Hendrie. I think Howard, currently, is the biggest waste of space we have.

You might of wondered why I have been quiet on here for a while, it's simply because I havent been to a game since boxin day, not cos I dont want to just cos I havent been able to. I have listened online to every match and I get confused at the way they come across, it seems we have been playing well apart from last night, however I come on here and its all about how bad we are.
Since Beattie went it seemed as if we were playing better as the team isnt built around one player.
So whats it like????? Next game I come to will be against the Pigs. Are we really as bad as some people are making out???
Surely we cant be that bad we were unbeaten in 9 games.

Anyway as I said I havent been so cant comment on how we are playing but just want to know how shocked im gonna be come derby day.
