Speedo,
I'm not interested in penalties
Get the boys playing football, creating chances and more important scoring goals
Last Saturday we were beaten by a team that 7 years ago were in the Conference, Cresswell missed an absolute sitter and yet you go on about penalties!
Get Real
Whilst I understand the limitations of the squad we are better than what we are showing on the field!
It is dross
Get it sorted
I don't want to hear about how hard done the blades are just get the side playing football
Frustrated yes I bloody am frustrated but
Don't keep carping on just sort it!:mad::mad::mad:

A lot of the decisions have been 50/50, obviously we've been unlucky not to get any of them. But the foul on Evans against QPR, how can that possibly not have been given?

Because fiery said so :)

Personally I wouldve thought the lack of penalties would become a major issue precisely because our strikers aren't scoring, but apparently this isn't the case :)

Its just a smokescreen to mask the abysmal play United have been churning out
Warnock and Blackwell blamed the wind, length of grass, match officials, out of town shopping centres, global warming, absolutely anything but their own inadequacies
Speedo is obviuosly learning from them to deflect any critisism of the team, his management or the club in general
Sorry Gary, doesn't wash with me!

You're probably right Fiery but what would you normally expect from a football manager? Of course its a smokescreen! Its part of his remit to protect his players and wrap their reputations in cotton wool no matter how badly they perform. If he came out and said "I've made mistakes here, there and in those other games as well"....."also the players are abysmal and their performances have been shocking" - he would instantly lose the respect and confidence of his players and the supporters too. Football people have to look for reasons and excuses or they would be hounded out of work.

I'm not saying Speed's comments are without substance because I think he has a point but its something you have to deal with. Officials arent going to give you more decisions because you complain about the lack of them.....in fact theyre more likely to go even further the other way! Again though, this doesnt take away from the fact that we have created most of our current problems ourselves.

Just my Opinion,

but Warnock is ALLOWED to question Referee's purely because he's been 1 for many years and he takes the relevant update courses to stay qualified. Along with when he Banned them "Blades" boots the players were wearing, he's a fully qualified Chiropodist and see's why they are bad for you feet and are the cause of Metatarsal and Hamstring/Calf injuries. I'm nkt saying he's a saint, but for the FA to constantly barrage him with touch-line bans and Fines because he spoke against them (often), Maybe the FA should make all managers take the refereeing courses. They might have a tad more respect for them in the end.

Like I said, just my opinion ;-)

I'll bet he has a degree in gynaecology as well

What? Like the abundance of respect Warnock has and shows for referees?

Not that he should, they're shocking.....but his history with them kind of contradicts what youve said surely?

That's begging for a follow up line.....I'll give someone else the pleasure and keep it clean :D

Speed has regulary said that we haven't been good enough - true
He's said that he's made mistakes - true
He's said that we don't get a rub of the green with the officials - true

I don't understand the point here. Short of him saying "my players aren't up to it on the whole" which isn't and shouldn't happen, what else do we expect him to say? If he solely blamed officials I'd have an issue. It seems to me he's accepted more of the blame thsan any manager we've had in the last decade ort more.

I just do not think that harping on about not getting penalties after that performance against smacked of desperation.
Many penalties are subjective by nature and last season the Blades got out of jail at the Dingles with two dubious penalties you win some you lose some!
I was more disturbed that the Blades players came onto the pitch last week looking like they didn't even want to compete.
They were outplayed in every departed for the first 45 minutes by a side that was in the Conference only seven years ago who attract crowds half the size that attend Bramall Lane and whose record signing was a cast off Blade (twice) deemed not good enough by
both fans and management and with a players wage budget around 50% of the Blades squad !
Thats what Speedo should have made the main thrust of his after match comments - we are not good enough improve or ship out!:(
Its nothing to do with penalties

Did you miss the long monas about Doncaster wanting it more and how our first half display was totally unacceptable?

So was Speed, and he said so, extremely clearly. You must have missed that too.

Which has surely got fuck all to do woith Speed. He's not yet in control of thr players we have, the wages they've been paid, or the rise of Doncaster Rovers. I don't get that bit at all, either.

Yes it is. It's to do with lots of things and I've heard Speed raise them. He clearly said that the penalty had no bearing on the result. You must have missed that too. But not getting decisions is a small factor in our current predicament.
