Wilder barely played him because the fans wanted to see him play, it’s fairly simple. Ndiaye is a baller of high magnitude and has been since day one, the fact it’s took so long to see his talents because of somebody’s ego is frankly embarrassing.

This happens every game. His ability to win the ball from defenders is highly unusual. It takes defenders by surprise and all they can do is often throwing themselves to the ground. Unfortunately that makes referees blow the whistle by default as it seems so unlikely that a smallish player like Ndiaye is able to win the ball fairly in these situations.

On the ball defenders always try to bull him too. While other players dive Ndiaye is the opposite, unusually strong and with great balance he often stays on his feet, making challenges appear less hard/nasty.

As his reputation grows, because it will, there may be a bigger chance referees will take more notice of what actually happens, rather than making lazy/default decisions.
As his reputation grows , defenders will resort to just kicking him , so he's gonna need to get a bit cuter when a free kick offers a better reward than riding horrible tackles.
This wouldn't be necessary if refs penalised nasty tackles with a booking whether or not the victim stayed on his feet + advantage was played.
I wish he would wear shinpads - I cringe when he gets chopped.
He also needs some protection from the refs.
As for his own tackling , I agree that refs need to be more careful when defenders dive after he's taken the ball from them fairly.
In the lead-up to Berge's goal , their defender put his shoulder into Ndiaye chest with force - I understand why Ndiaye went up to him afterwards , but he's gotta be careful not to antagonise refs because in order to be at his most effective , he needs them to see his speed & quality and not take the lazy way out of seeing him as a temperamental lad who is just as naughty as his opponents.

Wilder had is favorites and preferred seasoned professionals. I think it’s almost irrefutable that he would rather have experience than youth. It’s worked for him without doubt but to my mind it’s a blind spot he has.
Apart from when he went with James Bloody Wilson instead of Billy. That was just plain wrong.

That season could of destroyed his confidence, he had a good confidence building season with the u23s and brought that momentum with him. Imo he came into the side at the right time.

I disagree wholeheartedly, if you’ve got a chance to get yourself out of mess you play your best players or try something different, he did neither and spoiled the legacy he’d built up somewhat. He’s still a legend in my eyes but my word could things have been so much better.

I see where your coming from but Ndiaye couldn't of changed that season for us on his own. He's one of a bunch of key players we was missing or not utilising. As for his legacy it was intact for me and would of been happy with wilder in championship, his ego wrecked his legacy

Very obvious to see last season.
You called it almost a year ago and I think we've missed the boat.
If we don't go up this season , he's gone.
If we go up but he's had a brilliant season , he may still go.
I can't see why he would sign an extended contract now , unless he was doing us a favour so that we get a better price next summer.
Also , he would want a release clause , so there would be a lot of argument over the figure.
At the moment , we can refuse any amount of money until promotion is no longer possible.

You’re bang on the money, I agree with everything you say regardless of my view on Wilder and Ndiaye utilisation.

Let's be correct that's absolute guess work.

Boo the man who took us from mid table league one to the fringes of European qualification. Booo!!!

Nice overreaction to my observation and feelings of what’s gone off, I know a bit about this but I’m not about to spout to you or anybody what I know.

Why you booing Wilder by the way? Booing is for plonkers, berks.😂

Called up for Senegal again.

Friendlies v. Bolivia (a) on Saturday 24/9, ko 18.00; and v. Iran (a) on Monday 26/9, ko TBC
Looking like he will be going to the World Cup. Just looked and they play Netherlands, Qatar and Ecuador so I would also expect Ndiaye to be in the knockout stages. Does anyone know whether he’s likely to be starting?

Widely reported that his contract expires in 2024, anyone any idea if we have the option for another year?
Definitely one that hecky wants to tie down to a new contract although it was interesting in his pre match for Preston that he inferred that there were some players he wanted to tie down for longer that the board did not seem to agree with.

That’s not going to be Ndiaye, it’ll be the older ones. Billy not getting a new deal, which I’m guessing he wanted a 2 year deal so we only invoked the extension clause. Maybe Ozzy and a few others. They aren’t playing so then board won’t be looking to pay big money to keep them and I reckon Billy in particular still thinks he can do it at Championship level so wants the pay to go with it. We got Basham to sign so maybe we can find some middle ground for Billy.
We’ll have been talking to Illiman for a while I would have thought but he’s going to know his worth and it’ll take time.

Realise it will not be Ndiaye, just intrigued as to who it may be and agree with your thoughts. Ndiaye must be worth as much as MGW now and if he goes on to improve this season and next the sky is the limit as we will be able to conduct an auction with all the big clubs involved. he does appear to value the opportunity we have given him and may Count in our favour when it comes to signing new contract

Great to see an Ndayie playing for Senegal 🇸🇳
Just looked them up about 8 Ndiayes in the squad, definitely a good reason watch WC in Qatar, commentator’s nightmare or commentators dream ?

The board would be daft not to want to tie him down for longer.

If I was him I would only sign an extension with non-promotion, relegation and minimum fee release clauses. I'd also want incremental pay rises based on achievements on top of being assured as the clubs highest earner
