But then I haven't got the excuse that I can't get hold of oneThe club is really missing a trick here. They should stock Blades tartan kilts and make a big promotion for Wembley.

Is this really the 1936 FA Cup final? Looking at the other photos and video footages the weather wasnt as sunny or as warm as it seems in your photo
Ok, can you post the link please?its from the Daily Mail site , and they say its from the 1936 cup final
and they did report the game v Arsenal was on a baking hot day
Ok, can you post the link please?
This is a good one Wapping! Wonder if the club would try to trace down the names of these three supporters by putting in an appeal in the papers?A case of mis-reading the captions methinks (I agree the clothes are all wrong for 1936). I did a Google Image search on Sheffield United 1936 FA Cup Final and found that image, originally in a thread on a West Ham (!) messageboard with lots of interesting old photos. The one in this thread is actually captioned "a section of the crowd at Wembley for the 1960 FA Cup final between Wolves and Blackburn. Many of the gentlemen look as if they are dressed for cricket at Lord's with their jackets, shirts and ties." and the one above (here):

has the original caption from this thread "Sheffield United supporters in London before the 1936 FA Cup final against Arsenal - more than 93,000 watched at Wembley as the Gunners won 1-0." and area clearly Blades (though how well the "Play Up Sheffield" would have gone down...).
e mailed the daily mail as they posted the same picture in 2 different articles, looking at football history , and apparently it is as Foxy commented the 1960 final ,they apologised for their error but it still makes me look daft, for which I apologise, the error occured in an uploading photo site apparently and was wrongly titledOk, can you post the link please?
Ted Drake was doubtful for the match but decided to play. The goal aggravated his injury and he hobbled for the rest of the game. A minute later Jock Dodds headed a Harold Barton cross against the crossbar. Had the header gone in we would probably be playing extra time against 10 mins plus an hobbling DrakeThis definitely is our last cup appearance View attachment 7742
Drake scores ARSENALS winner
The goal posts diameters look huge
