Sad state of affairs with football that even after achieving promotion the first act will be to see your better players leave.

What has football become?

In the absence of a new deal, I’d like to see him stay, at least until January depending on how we are doing. In the end, if he goes for free then so be it. He can then join Marseilles for free with our blessing. Came for nothing, left an excellent mark on the club, left for nothing to join his boyhood club. It’s not the worst story.

I'm sure all the players and staff are completely focused on the priority of sealing promotion. After that is done would be the time to consider what the options will be.
This is not the time to disrupt the squad harmony.

I think if we go up, he will stay and review his options at the end of next season

Sounds fair but players who are running down their contract no longer have anything to prove so can have a downturn in form.
The concern is that in his final year N'Diaye could become another John Lundstram

You would hope that was the case but according to Rob Staton on Radio Sheffield, last night he revealed that he's spoken to SUFC this week and
apparently the club have recently expressed an intention to start negotiations with N'Diaye's agent once we're promoted.

N'Diayes agents response was,
there's no point in negotiations because his client has zero intentions in extending his contract no matter what SUFC offer.
Of course this could be kiddology by the agent, so it pushes up the contract we're willing to offer.
The agent also said they want to take the next step to join a bigger club and hope N'Diaye is sold this Summer.

So if we receive a big offer then expect him to be sold
but if the offer is under 15 million, then expect we'll force him to honour his contract, then he can leave on a free after next season.

There will be some big offers for NDiaye this summer he’s going but having said that nothing will stop me enjoying our promotion then let the battle to avoid relegation begin

Seems a bit of a shame, from reading this thread looks like he is on his way out
The only rumoured team I can see is Everton, who I would think is a poor place to move at the moment, they are certainly a team in the decline!
Maybe if they get relegated we have a stronger chance of keeping hold of him?
Maybe there are other suitors out there for him, but the media is only pushing Everton from what I can see.
Anyway I just hope we depart on good terms, he's been a fun player to watch over the last two seasons!

If he stays next season on his current contract he won’t be on massive money, so I can only see him moving on if the right offer comes in

This might be the last time we are going to see our boy in a United shirt , rumours are gathering about his future , stalling to sign an extension, his agents trying to move him on to bigger things !

I would hate to see him go , but its the way of the world , and if we do sell in the summer at least we will get some cash for him !

Can we hold on to him, and how can we do it ?

If he does go he is going to take some replacing , in fact he cant be replaced , we wont get anyone like him .

If he has to go i hope he goes abroad, then we don't have to watch him play for another club !
The only way we can possibly keep him is to offer him a new contract with a big pay increase and a reasonable end of season buy out clause. Say 20mil, irrespective of relegation or staying up. That may tempt him as he clearly loves it here.
If he refuses its going to be really tricky for the club to decide when to sell and for how much as the best offers will come later in the window, affecting the recruitment of a replacement.

Loves it here but won't enter negotiations?
Is it just me who's slightly annoyed about this?
Don't get me wrong love the guy but to say we rescued him from borham wood I think it stinks him and his agent acting like this
I could understand if he was mid 20,s established championship player, but he still isn't the finished product, still shows naivety on occasion and in my opinion isn't prem ready, he might end up stuck on the bench but I suppose he won't care cos he, l have a big fat wage eh?

I would take the 15 million.
If he has no intention of signing a new contract then get rid and get what we can for him. I don't care how good he is if he doesn’t want too play for Sheffield United then its a Thanks and Goodbye.
Even if he wants to let his contract run down and refuses to sign for another club so he gets a fat signing on fee for himself and his Agent, I wouldn't have him involved at all next season. He can train on his own and not play any games at all next season the collect his big cheque.
I only want players that want too play for United.
This isn't me being bitter its about being fair. United have given him the chance that's got him to were he is today. He could sign a new contract with a fair fee inserted into it so any club that matched the figure then he would be free too talk to them. That way the club that helped get him where he is today gets some compensation.
It could also work for him because it gives him a chance to play in the Premiership for a team where he is likely to start every week, and if he does well the bigger clubs will come sniffing rather than the Evertons who lets face it aren't going to be winning anything in the near future.

Really sad news, and if promoted, it will take some of the gloss off immediately. This isn't his fault or his agent's, both looking after themselves, doing their jobs so to speak, it's the result of the financial mess we're in. Ideally, we would have improved his contract at the start of the season, as soon as it became clear what an integral player he was becoming. However, given our financial plight that was impossible, and it's now too late. The idea of his next move being a stepping stone to a Burnley or Everton is devastating, he should be the guy this team is built around for years to come, unless an offer was too big to refuse. What now? Hope Forest go down and get Gibbs White back? The contract fiascos created, self-created will make next season so much more difficult regardless which division we're in.

Gibbs-White is currently on a massive £80,000 a week over 5 years.
He's not going to leave Forest and have a pay cut. If Forest are relegated then surely they'd need to offload so many players to stay with FFP.

So MGW would want £100K a week. Also the transfer fee would be £30 million + add-ons.

He's good but not that good.

Think the problem is agents know there's huge amounts of money in the game.
So they try to push up player demands to the max, even ordinary players expect big wages.

I certainly wouldn't be taking £15m for him.
We'd be better off getting a year out of him in the Premier League in my opinion, even if he leaves for free at the end of it. He could be the difference between us staying up or not next year. Who are we gonna get to replace him with £15m if we sell him now?

I think if we go up, he will stay and review his options at the end of next season
Not according to Bettis
According to him the agent has already got to him

£30,000 a week maximum with us

Or a starting £75000 a week as a squad player elsewhere like the massive Brighton or Palace

There’s a lot of negativity regards this, and there’s one or two who would cut off their nose to spite their face!
Let’s get the win we need for promotion and take it from there.
Personally… if we offer the best deal we can and it’s not good enough, I would still keep him for the season. We will need him next season if we want to avoid relegation. And who knows… factors could change throughout the year.

Whatever happens to lad, GLTH, hope though he remembers who got him out of obscurity and onto the world stage, turns round and tells his agent, "No i'm staying at the blades for another season, this time in the PL, I dont care about the money, they got me here I owe them".
Doubt it will though.....

If the Prince stays we cannot afford to let Ndiaye run his contract down , thereby losing the fee we would get for him this summer - our finances dictate that he will have to be sold.
