The board will do the transfers. The manager will just be responsible for training and match tactics. The European style. How can we be linked with players when we haven’t got a fucking manager? It’s absolute nonsense.
That's not actually what's proprted to be the way they're going to do it though. Think the Prince said that it's a collective process, the manager has final say also - I'm sure he said that? But obviously the manager will have to be open to who the Prince/Van Winkel have scouted and be open to their scouting. That's what I thought was the process in theory. The board will do the transfers. The manager will just be responsible for training and match tactics. The European style.
Unpopular from our fanbase but i think this is what we are lacking tbh. Not sure how good this guy is thoughThe board will do the transfers. The manager will just be responsible for training and match tactics. The European style.
I agree, lets face it, they couldn’t do any worse!Unpopular from our fanbase but i think this is what we are lacking tbh. Not sure how good this guy is though
I don’t agree. I suspect the manager will have a say in who is signed; not the final say, but they’ll be part of the decision-making committee. The board will do the transfers. The manager will just be responsible for training and match tactics. The European style.
You’re either pregnant or you’re not. In the same way, either the manager has the final say, or he doesn’t. He may be given a list of, say, 5 players and told to pick one from the list but it seemed pretty clear from PA’s interview that he was fed up with Wilder rejecting ‘his’ suggestions. So it seems that the manager will have the final say, as long as it’s “yes” to most of them. That's not actually what's proprted to be the way they're going to do it though. He did also mention about coming to him with more than one suggestion. He didn't mention who that target was, but id guess it was brewster considering we spent nearly a full month chasing himYou’re either pregnant or you’re not. My guess is that it was mostly ok between the Prince and Wilder in terms of recruitment for the vast majority of Wilder's time with us because everything Wilder did till this summer paid off, he was untouchable, even when the first summers recruitment mostly didn't come off and we saw Freeman and Robinson shipped out, that probably didn't go down well. You’re either pregnant or you’re not. There’s no reason why it can’t work providing we get a decent coach and the recruitment is done well. PA obviously thought his boys could do a better job finding players than Wilder so he’s chosen that route. It’s up to him to make it work. If he doesn’t, he’ll probably end up losing the club, we won’t. It’ll still be here when he’s gone, so he should be just as incentivised as us to ensure it’s a success and we’re back in the PL.My guess is that it was mostly ok between the Prince and Wilder in terms of recruitment for the vast majority of Wilder's time with us because everything Wilder did till this summer paid off, he was untouchable, even when the first summers recruitment mostly didn't come off and we saw Freeman and Robinson shipped out, that probably didn't go down well.
This summer Wilder spent a lot and because they didn't come off the Prince is then in a much stronger position with Wilder to say this needs to be a two way process. Wilder baulked/the Prince didn't want to support Wilder as much on his targets and the rest is history.
So going forward the Prince is certain he wants it to be a two way process as he always wanted. I think there's exciting times above. I miss Wilder still, a true legend. But the thought of another Vass Borbokis and Jan Aage Fjortoft, they don't often come around on our budget and I hope for another one of them. I digress now, but that debut v Sunderland from Vass, it was like watching a player from another planet, or the very least another country! ;-). As long as the new manager agrees to the model then I think we can be excited with the future recruitment.
Maybe we do have a manager but it hasn’t been announced. Watch the start of the Burnley matchHow can we be linked with players when we haven’t got a fucking manager? It’s absolute nonsense.

The Prince didn't say anything like "Wilder rejected my suggestions"You’re either pregnant or you’re not. In the same way, either the manager has the final say, or he doesn’t. Yes he did. He gave examples of players they’d put forward to Wilder and he’d rejected. I think Coufal was one.The Prince didn't say anything like "Wilder rejected my suggestions"
What he actually said was that Wilder only ever came up with "this player only" as his transfer target rather than a list of possibles.
Which made any sort of negotiation very difficult as other teams would ask more for any individual that they knew Wilder wanted

Oops!Yes he did. He gave examples of players they’d put forward to Wilder and he’d rejected. I think Coufal was one.
Think he also mentioned souchek too.. criminal when you think about itOops!
I’d rate the Borbokis debut as the best I witnessed.

Similar record to Brewster for SwanseaDecent scoring record. Especially at the club before his current one.
Similar record to Brewster for Swansea
If Wilder had been more open to that process he would more than likely still be here. That's not actually what's proprted to be the way they're going to do it though.
