... Kevin Blackwell was still in charge, we wouldn't be in this mess!!

That is for sure. Yes we didn't like his style of play but this brings back the age old arguement. Would you prefer to play "decent" stuff and not win or play "Hoofball" and have a chance of the play offs.

There I've said it!

As I posted elsewhere, if KB had remained in charge he would also have had to make do with the loss of Morgan and Henderson. Would the team have done any better in such circumstances?

If what I've heard about his training methods are true, we'd have had more than just those two.

I'd have stopped goin if Blacky was still here, I'd totally had enough of watching his 'football' and probably wouldn't have renewed my ST for first time in 20 years...

Mind numbing stuff.

KB is an excellent championship manager. He knows this league inside out and we would probably be pushing for the play offs as usual if he wa still here. Footy was boring at times but there is no argument for how effective it was.

Which is why he stepped straight into another job so quickly.

my auntie had a pair she'd be my uncle.

The whole of South Yorkshire football is shite and has been in general decline for many years (Chessy are North Derbyshire in case anyone wants to throw that one in and one season in the Prem in nearly 20 years is not any measure of success). It's the worst region in the country and it beggars belief when you contrast it with Lancashire and the tin pot clubs raking in the Sky coin over there. The Football Wilderness is an area between Bradford, Glossop, Chesterfield and East to the Coast from there. We are the nuclear winter of the footballing world. Wrap up warm - it'll be a long one.

I agree with this, but I do also disagree - he should have gone in the summer, for a new manager to have pre-season and the transfer window to sort the team out, I pin the blame on McCabe & Co for a truely despicable decision to do it 3 games into the season, against 2 sides who are going to be in with a shout of going up.

The thing is he got us a very credible point @ Cardiff and then we lost to QPR and they're flying. They shouldn't have sacked him, especially after giving him the pre-season. It's like Wednesday getting shut of Irvine AFTER he brings in all his players.

Blackwell signed the players for a reason and had a theory behind him. We've also had a much more settled side this year than last year, all be it with a lot of loans.

Didn't we finish 8th last season after having "Our worst ever bad luck of injuries"

We should never have got rid of the Star Wars music. Or the life & blood of the club, Sam Ellis.

Given the support from board level, I think we would be in just the same shit!!!!
