If Wilder read this forum of late

There is a difference between criticising tactical decisions and player performances and the flouncing we regularly witness.
Words like useless, baffling, clueless and pathetic prove the severe context-disorders many fans have.

Not really. It's baffling why Wilder only used one sub against Wednesday and somehow expected doing the exact same thing over and over to get a different outcome.
Enda Stevens has been useless going forward for months, but seems undroppable.
The team has appears clueless at how to break down a team that just sits back and defends in the past few months.
The effot shown by Carruthers this season when he's had the chance has been pathetic.

All legitimate observations, no flouncing necessary.

Wilder has done great things here, but some of his selections, tactics and particularly substitutions when things are going against us have been a bit ropey in this bad run.

I would expect that Wilder would take any of the questions people at here are throwing at him (if asked) and give a robust answer. However it doesn't mean that the questions shouldn't be asked in the first place. The problem being that instead of being asked via the conduit of a journalist on say RS, they get shouted by grumpy old farts behind the bench in the south stand in the manner of "gerrimon wilder" and the old favourite "gerritforard and stop pissing abart wi it".

If RS were to ask why Sharp, Duffy and Wright aren't being played we might get an answer, unfortunately they don't. He answered a question about Sharp recently but it wasn't direct enough.

No no no ... you don’t get it, if you even suggest on here that something the club is doing may not be 100% correct then you are basically poet in Stalin era Russia and the S2 KGB will be escorting you to the gulag,

Why are some people so touchy about criticism of Wilder?

Nobody is saying he hasn't done an incredible job, nobody is calling for him to be fired, but we are allowed to criticise him for poor team selections and substitutions which he has done recently.

No one is saying Wilder is infallible, or that he/the club can't be criticised. It's the reactionary moaning after every defeat that isn't necessary.

Questioning tactics, selections or performance is perfectly valid: the forum would be dull without it. It's the overly harsh criticism of individual players or Wilder, which seems like misplaced anger after defeat, that we could do without.

Whereas my idea of a Treet is a chocolate coated peanut.....

treets.jpg
When my lad was four he got a peanut stuck up his nose so I took him to A & E. I couldn't believe it when they put melted chocolate up his nostril, but to be fair to them, 5 minutes later and it came out a Treet ;)

Ah.....confectionery based humour 1889! :D

I'm afraid when I was at school it was something like....

'I love eating peanuts, they keep me regular and come out a treet'.... (same joke, but maybe you are more posher than what I am).....

And....

'Whats got a hazelnut in every bite?'
Squirrel shit! :tumbleweed:

Then laughs at some of the 'analysis' on here.

Quite possibly, but football's a funny old game. If we're still in the championship and still averaging less than a point a game in 40 games time, he might find himself laughing at this forum on his iPhone whilst he's spending his Saturday afternoon's drinking Peroni in the Banner Cross.

'Have been a bit ropey' is a fair opinion.

To be 'baffled' by Wilder making one sub against Wednesday is just silly. When we were lossing to Hull at HT Wilder changed nothing until the 83rd minute, by then we Clarke had scored three and we were cruising.
Did you criticse Wilder's decision to expect 'doing the exact same thing over and over to get a different outcome' then?

The same easy answers apply to your other questions. In context, teams in every division have a hard time breaking teams down that park the bus against them. Given the fact that the teams we're playing against have better players than us, is clueless the best way to describe our team?

It would appear that the 7 teams currently above us don't have the same trouble breaking teams down that we currently do. Is that solely down to better players? All 98 of them?

I thought this message board had changed since CW took charge.

Seemingly not :(

Some of the teams play direct football (cardiff) so don't have to break teams down, some play counter-attacking football and don't dominate possession so also rely less on breaking a parked up opposition down. Some teams have had the same problem but are on good runs of form. I've watched Man City struggle to break down opposition this season (Palace, Burnley, Wolves). Add another 100 factors and the answer isn't as simple as some fans on this forum think it is.
