What players in current squad do you think would be good enough for us to push on.

Howard
Brayford
Harris
Basham
Coutts
Murphy
Done

Would be in my XI so add some experience and quality to those and I think we'd be comfortable. Also the likes of Baxter, scougall, mcnulty, JCR could do a job as we've seen against better sides in the cups.

Building a good squad is clough.

We've see what Norwich, Southampton, Swansea, Bournemouth have done when you have a solid squad and add to it. No reason why we couldn't do the same

In terms of starting I'd be happy with Howard, Brayford, Basham, Harris, Flynn, Doyle (deterioration dependant, at least a squad player), Wallace, Coutts, Murphy, Done, Baxter, Freeman, Cuvelier.

It's hard to know how the young players will develop but I see no issue with Reed, Adams and McNulty, maybe even the other Wallace, being around the squad. Perhaps loan out one or two.

The players I'd be worried about going up are Higdon (don't want to write him off), then JCR and McEvelely maybe, as I'm unsure whether their purple patches have been true indicators of ability. That's being quite harsh though, and in honesty bar some loans I don't see any player who needs outing.

Obviously the ones I said could start would need some quality adding. I'm always wary of making more than 5 signings in a window (commented yesterday on how Bournemouth and Brentford's sides haven't changed much) so I'd just look to bring in: starting centre half or two, a potentially starting forward, a winger to cover/push Murphy and Flynn/oust JCR, then dependant on Wallace's fitness a midfielder of his ilk, and perhaps another striker to make up the 5.

If we lined up in the Championship with:
Howard
Brayford Tel/new New Harris
Flynn Bash Coutts/New Murphy
Baxter
Done

I think we'd do okay, Brayford, Basham and Coutts have experience in the league. I think everyone would agree our left hand side is strong. Done is hard to tell having played little, especially as a striker up there (risk of Paddy Madden?). Baxter I've made clear my views although we may have to sacrifice him for defensive purposes. A confident Flynn will be fine in the championship in my eyes, but a new signing may be in order to challenge.

In my opinion we would probably need a couple bigger build players to be a bit more of a presence and another player capable of scoring goals throughout a season
(The goalscorer being the same player every club is looking for) x

Doyle has been our most consistent player when playing higher opposition.

There is a clear plan to invest and the aim for the prince/Jim was premiership so with what we've got I'm optimistic. Just need to get out of this horrendous league first but the foundations are definitely in place

Yeah, I mentioned yesterday how he shows how important he is against the better sides so would be good higher up the leagues. I've then not put him in my team for some reason, but maybe in for Coutts. I think I'm harshly assuming he'll soon decline at 35 despite their being no signs of it.
