If we sign…

If Josh Dasilva can get back to half as good as he was he would be ideal, still training at Brentford in recovery from his injury.
Would require a proper look at though which would take longer than this week

Withe did give a return of 18 goals over 70 plus games. Horsefield with a nice round figure of none!
If Ings can replicate Withe s input it would be an improvement on what Cannon has produced so far.
I doubt he will do. But we can hope.

Ings most certainly won't be an improvement on Canon.

He got 1 goal (ONE for you old teleprinter types), in 15 games last season. Shit as West Ham are, even they saw that this wasn't a very good return.

Ings is a classic example of a drowning man clutching for anything. We look rudderless at the top of the club and absolutely clueless in the dugout. Tin hat time at Boro.

Exactly what you wrote. Develop young talented players so we can make a profit and buy better players. Recruit good value experienced players that improve the squad and can aid the development of youth players.

Cannon’s going through a rough patch, do you keep hoping he plays through it or bring in an experienced head that can talk to him player to player?

We've brought in several loans, bought from the Bulgarian market, the Swedish market, the Portuguese market and the domestic market.

We've signed an 18 year old, a 22 year old, a 26 year old and a 33 year old.

We started out this window buying young players. We then started bringing them in on loan with no chance of buying them. We've now seemingly started being linked with every over 33 in Britain.

There is no plan here. Just panic.

Ings Mother would be an improvement on Cannon 🤨

Josh Dasilva hasn't kicked a ball in anger in over eighteen months and has missed almost all of the last two seasons injured. Sadly for him he's another Jack O'Connell.

How old were Burrows, Campbell and Moore when we signed them? That was never described as a panic was it?

I agree they’ve realised the shit has hit the fan and now are just throwing enough shit at it to see what sticks …

This season is all about survival now … I hope some work out but there has been no strategy to our recruitment (again) and I fear for us long term (3-5 years)

AI players, young players, ones for the future, old worn out players, players who have cost alot and don't do alot. So there is panic. There is shite and any other description people want to give it.

I wonder why? No Director of Football when there was an ideal time to get one in. No obvious football or recruitment strategy, a DoF would have addressed that.

The CEO is responsible for the day to day running of the club, for implementing the "invisible" club strategies and one would imagine guiding the club in a manner that, according to COH, whose board he now sits on, want established Premier League status.

Sorry but we are bumbling along as usual in our own mediocre way whilst other clubs are modernising and moving with the times.

Established Premier League status, your having a laugh!!!

If he is fit, I think this signing will be really interesting to show the difference between PL and Championship...

A lot also obviously comes down to supply but when we look at Vini Souza in the PL and then how easy it looked like it was for him at Championship level, we could see him really turn it on and make a difference.

Issue is, we aren't getting the ball to Campbell as it is, not giving the ball to Ings will make this a ridiculous signing on paper.

Regards The Danny Ings signing.
I recall another prolific premier league goal scorer we signed late on in his career.
Ian Rush!
Anybody remember how well that worked out?

Looking at those signings and potential signings apart from Zatterstrom and Soumare, they don't seem to far from the sort of signings Wilder would have made. So does not feel like too big a shift in transfer strategy yet, actually could be a bit more similar to a Hecky window ( although he didn't seem to favor the veterans as much).
You can't get both of them out of your system mate can you😂

Nathan Redmond (rumoured to training with us)
Danny Ings (rumoured to be training with us)
Ben Mee (training with us)
Japhet Tanganga (rumoured to be in personal terms)

Alongside the Malmo lad, Ben Godfrey, Louie Barry and Soumare….

Would this be a successful transfer window for you?

And can we overturn the start of the season and get up into autos?

That would be an incredible statement from our owners IMO.

Or is it a manager thing?
Eventually it becomes a good window but the fact half of the signings have happened in the past 2 weeks means it is still a complete farce

The vast majority of the players we recruited last summer were based in the UK and aged between 22 and 26. There was a very clear plan, as there often is with Wilder to be fair.

This summer we have recruited players of all ages from several different countries and with seemingly nothing binding then together. It is a mess.

So your issue isn’t ages it’s they they’re foreign?

Give me strength.

Let's give the lad a chance eh?

Christ. I think you're resorting to that nonsense and reading what you want to read because you have no serious response to my points. Please leave this to the adults until you're ready for a serious argument.

Fair point.

His recent goal scoring form doesn;t bode well, and his injury record makes Tom Davies look like an ever-present, so my point remains that this was a signing stemming from desperation. If he ends up being as good as stop-gap as Clayton Donaldson, then I'll be very happy.

Since 2018/19 he has been unavailable for a total of 8 games, all due to minor injuries.

That's not what the link shows.

There's also his Covid at Southampton.

Still, I suppose you know best, so please enlighten us all with your teacher's injury record book.

Perhaps we should judge Ings by what he does for us in a league lower than his last.

Snowflake - you're pissing into the wind, lad. There are those who will step back and survey the future in front of them given the pro's and cons and make rational observations from the resulting events and then there are those who already know the future and feel enabled to spout shit anyway. It's just the way the combination of social media and our fanbase works.
