If we make play-offs, which team do you wanna play?

Fulham seem to be the only team above us that aren't frauds so not them. Villa probably the next worst option but I think they end up getting automatic

Not bothered who we would get, I would just be delighted that we got into the playoffs at the first attempt :)

Would be an amazing accomplishment considering where we have been for 6 years.

One thing is looking certain, Wendy will not finish above us so that means I can keep my avatar for the start of next season :D

Whoever we play we are going to be big underdogs. Whoever we play, id prefer fulham as 5-4 was interesting considering 8 of 9 goals were handed on a plate by both sides

Of the current clubs in the top 6 - Derby, by far

I would honestly fancy us against anyone though, bar Wolves (which won't happen anyway)
Wilder will make sure we're up for it.

Impossible, they'll go up automatic!!

LAUGH OUT VERY FUCKING LOUD!!!!!

Honestly On our day we can take any of these f*ckers down including wolves.
We have to have at least 2 of these days in the play offs.
Fleck, Brooks, O'Connell (have I missed anybody) being available would be massive positives.

Does anyone else think Wilder is in awe of Villa... a little bit?

I think he enjoys playing Villa because of who they are in his mind. Hard to motivate the team to thrash them when you feel like that.

ABV for me.

Not fussed who we get.

I know on our day we can beat anyone in the league. However The team I have seen to cause us the most problems was Fulham.

Villa are nothing special and rely on odd bits of quality which recently has served them well, but that won’t last and the set piece goals will dry up, one or two of their injury prone players will be injured here and there and they will be in the play offs IMHO. Tag Grealish and Villa are nothing going forwards. We need him to get a season ending injury like we had to our best player

Bristol also average though tend to depend on form and struggle to find results when a few things not gone their way and luck runs out. ReThey fluked a win at ours which was daylight robbery.

Derby also much of a muchness. Vydra is quality, would take him at United. After that nothing too much to worry about.

I can see Cardiff getting second due to the tired and tested Warnock method of overpowering teams in their defensive third and forcing errors and pressure.
So If we make it we can look to have two of Villa, Fulham, Derby or Bristol to get past over three games.
Of those I would take Derby over two legs and Villa at Wembley. Reckon their luck and bubble will burst.

Doesn’t matter we won’t win them anyway

The arrogant, deluded scum may not finish in the top six but the football authorities will no doubt recognise that they are a MASSIVE club who should be playing Champions League football. They will therefore have little choice but to bow to the pressure from the 750,000 pig fans locked out of their final match of the season with a record breaking crowd of 86,000.

An additional automatic spot will be created and a lottery run for which unworthy Premiership team is demoted to make way for the "massive" to assume their rightful place at the pinnacle of the Premiership, pushing the "big five" into their shadow and dominating English & European football for decades to come ....... o_Oo_O

Just a feeling I've got watching interviews when we played Villa.

Not trying to sound trollish but Wilder's perfect end to the season is getting beat on penalties to Villa at Wembley

I think we should flip this on its head slightly and ask how the other teams around the top 6 will feel heading into the playoffs:

Cardiff - Had no expectations of promotion going into the season, but will be gutted if they end up in the play-off lottery after flirting with the top 2 spots all season.
If they play us, then Warnock returning to his old club would a bit of extra spice to the tie...a situation he is likely to relish.

Villa - Big club, with big expectations - will be favourites to beat whoever they come up against but will be under enormous pressure to succeed and return to the Prem.
We were unlucky to lose to them at the Lane and disappointingly gave them a 2 goal head start at Villa Park.
Their fans will have no appetite to face us as they seemed genuinely impressed with the way we play and consider us one of their toughest opponents this year.

Derby - We’ve beaten them at home and were unlucky not to win away. We’ve got the beating of them over 2 legs and hopefully we could do it again in the context of the play-offs. Also worth noting that they have a habit of snatching defeat from the claws of victory in the final stages of the season.

Fulham - one of our best opponents this year. Although they put a hatful of goals past us at home, we still managed to return the favour in a freak game. Fulham will be likely to lose their starlets for big money this summer, so the pressure will be on them to go up at this time of asking.

Bristol - if they’re in the play-offs then I doubt we will be - feels like we’re playing for one spot already...however, if we do come up against them, we could have the beating of them. Feels like they’ve overperformed this year and have not been the same force since their heroic league cup adventure.

We would go into the play-offs happy to be there, but determined to succeed. Wilder would have the lads fired up and with their eyes firmly on the prize. He does not entertain complacency in his squads and expects the highest standards. However (aside from our fans) there would be no expectation for us to succeed and we would be a dangerous opposition for anyone to face. No one will relish a trip to the Lane in a high pressure game. Also, if we do fall short, our squad will remain intact, we will regroup in the Summer and come back stronger next year - so there is not the same pressure for us to

One or two of us and/or Boro, and/or Preston and/or Brentford will reach the play-offs, nothing so certain.

Wouldn't fancy playing Brentford or Wolves at Wembley. Not fussed about the rest. Anybody over 2 legs.

Weakest - Derby, Bristol, Boro, Preston.

If we do make the play-offs then by definition we will be on a good run. And we have a very strong squad to go into play-offs. Seemingly for the first time ever we will have a choice of strikers with cover on the bench!

Just need our luck to change playing good enough for playoffs. That and an improvement in set pieces. On our day we can beat most team in this division

Don't mind. Each team in there will bring their own challenges and be just as tough as the next. I would fancy us over 2 legs against most teams anyway, if we were to get to Wembley then owt could happen.

What a load of tosh. What gives you the impression that Wilder wants anything else but to win every game.

Yep, I think you are way off the mark with that buddy. In fact it's insulting to a superb Manager. (SALOPIAN).
