If we go down under Adams...

The Plymouth side that went down last season played better football than we do and an immediate on that springs to mind (ok they went down on the last day) is the side from S2. The one that lost to Palace would beat our current crop any day of the week. Apart from that, I will roll some off from down the years if you like but is it really worth it?

The point being made was not to open up a debate on who I mean.....it was to emphasise my opinion that relegation looks likely for us and that I dont think we have the quality to escape. If I compare us to other sides I've seem get relegated in the past (like the ones above) I think we're worse. Simples.

No we wont ever agree on Donny or SOD for that matter, but with the way we've declined we'll never be able to say whether SOD would have done better or not because soon we wont be able to afford him or attract him to the club anyway (if we ever could in the first place).

Can totally understand why anyone would think relegation would look inevitable but from where I sit it just looks like you are making excuses for Adams.

I know we are very, very poor but 27 points from 29 games (not all Adams obviously)? I think we have better players than that, just and also think Adams has wasted what chance he had to bring in players who would have made the very slight difference we need to finish 21st or better.

To try and add a bit of balance, I'm as ever looking forward to saturday to se if we play with the same tempo and desire which was evident in fairness to Micky in last 2 home games. Whilst ever that remains, we still have a good chance of 21st in my opinion.

1) suggestions and itkers so no solid evidence of anything

2) in all honesty no i dont if i did id support them. i like a bit of a variety in my footy

1) fair enough. Likewise, I see no solid evidence of SoD 'hiding' behind John Ryan or having 'no balls'.

2) so using your strange logic, are Sheffield United the only club whose football you enjoy?

my issue is that we have got 'worse'
he has put our best player on the wing to accomodate his new signing .. cresswell on the wing as he has fell out with ward.. one of my best mates moved to Australia a couple of months ago .. not heard from him since.. he is a massive leeds fan.. i got a text from him yesterday that said 'you bought collins.. christ'

1) just like our bullshit chairman he didnt step upto assure his fans he wasnt going anywhere when they like us clearly wanted answers

2) no course not. i do like to watch our national side have a crack at it

We were told we would be awaiting to appoint the right person.
All the noise came from the Donny camp.

1) Again, I'm not sure how that shows he has 'no balls'. Especially if he did want the job.

2) What a dull world you must live in as a football supporter if the only football you like is:
a) Sheffield United's current hoof and hope, and
b) England's ineffective brand of passing

Horses for courses I suppose.

I think three previous managers struggling in the same way with no improvement would suggest that the players are largely at fault for their own results. We've struggled all season with four different managers.....I'm not making any excuses for Micky Adams.....I'm pointing out a very evident fact. The common denominator is the players.

How had Adams wasted a chance to bring in players? He's brought in 5! Ok, you might argue the quality of them isnt sufficient but can you honestly say (with a straight face) that he has been given the funds required to sort out this mess? Do you think that with a decent budget, Adams would have opted for loans and free transfers with the likes of Doyle and Collins???? Somehow I think better resources would have enabled him to aim higher.....he got what he could and he had to get someone. Sticking with what he had would have meant certain relegation, unfortunately the signings dont seem to have changed that at the moment.

That's what I dont understand about you mic. You're constantly on KM's and TB's backs and blaming them for everything thats gone wrong.....yet when we ultimately cant put a decent team out and cant sign any decent players, its the manager's fault?! Who's fault is it mic?

I'm not being sarcaistic (genuinely) I am just totally confused by who you feel is to blame for the club's plight.

Except there's not a chance that Collins was a free transfer considering he cost 500k a handful of months ago.

One thing that's being neglected here boys. We don't choose the club we support based upon how they play. We support the club we do because that's just the way it fucking is. If it were otherwise, Sheffield United would have no fans at all.

I just re-read my post and knew someone would pick up on that comment :D

Quite right, but as it was an undisclosed fee I had made the assumption we hadn't paid much (especially as we're skint). Either way we dont seem to have spent a great deal on transfers so it doesnt change my point significantly.

Indeed.

Which is why I took issue at being told to go watch Donny simply because I stated I would have liked to see SoD's style of play at Bramall Lane.

Can't sneak one past me SCB.

I'd suggest we paid at least 250k. Which I think could have got us a better player elsewhere. But then I'm not a scout nor a manager so maybe not.

Not as simple as that is it? McCabe, Robson, Blackwell, Birch - all people who I have zero respect for, all people imo who have ruined and are still ruining SUFC beyond all recognition. Mind you, and I've said this before Steel, McCabe has presented his managers with relatively huge budgets - it's his property deals which have cost us. I have no problem with McCabe in terms of pushing the boat out and then trying to get wedge back through cost cutting when football team has failed to deliver. A bloke can do whatever he wants his company. My problem as a SUFC fan is what I see as the cost cutting to pay for failed property ventures - surely I have been reasonably clear and consistent, and boring, on this argument?

At present though, Adams imo should be doing better and I'm very disappointed that he added no pace or creativity, irrespective of the budget. More to the point, I am disgusted at the prospect of having to watch this brand of Wimbledon, thugish hoofball for the next few years. If we do go down, it will of course be a combination of a million things that have been all said before.

I'm torn between ITV Digital and L.A Sands.
