If we get Maupay

Imagine United making a public offer for 12 mill, then 14 mill..then 16, then 18....then walking away
And then offering 12 million for McBurnie.....Swansea will say we’ve offered 18 mill for Maupay and they want the same.

Many clubs don’t make an offer, they negotiate the price then make the offer.

Isn't the negotiated price the offer?

Who’s gonna be Duffys understudy/ replacement...........would that be Freeman?

As much as I love Billy, his lack of pace will be a limiting factor for us next season. We are fine when dominating teams and playing our tufty ball - this suits Billy down to the ground and gives him time to do what he does best and poach from inside the box. Next season we will need more, and genuine pace will enable us to sit back a little more and play the outlet ball. That is not Billy's game, so I can see him slipping down the pecking order. Who would back against him scoring a few late on though, coming on in the last 20 mins and doing the biss!

Is there such a thing as false pace?!

Enough is £15 mill, wouldn’t Maupay

Pay Mau.

Yes but we need a false number 9, somebody in the hole and others working the channels then tracking back as well as a box to box player.
Can we just revert to the old "W" formation instead? What does Bert think about that?

He’s more or less a like for like replacement for Billy. As it stands, it should be Bill’s shirt to lose. Wilder showed last season that he’s capable of shuffling the pack to keep it fresh up front.
I do fear that VAR is not going to be kind to our Bill...especially the clever use of his arse to find space and those marginal offsides

He has one of the most intelligent arses in the Premier League, of that I've no doubt. They will have to upgrade their technology to catch him out. I can see "VAR" turning into "VARSE" pretty soon, just to be able to cope with him.

It says we’ve signed four players since our promotion. Am I being thick?

Teenage goalkeeper Christopher Farrugia was the first to arrive, from Floriana in Malta.
Attacking midfielder Luke Freeman, 27, then joined from QPR, before former skipper Phil Jagielka returned on a free transfer after his Everton contract expired.
Signing No 4 was Ashton Hall from non-League Matlock Town.

HAHa! The premier league won't know what's hit it!

I'm not sure we could find a more ready made replacement for Billy Sharp if we tried! Shows that Wilder has faith in the system and is looking after our long term future knowing full well Billy probably only has one more good season left in him at best so need to get his understudy in "sharpish" ready to take over the leading role before the curtain comes down on Billy's run.

However, if we are looking for better value for money, Watkins looks to have all the elements we currently are desperately missing in the team. Pace, power, tricks and creativity.

Dont understand this McBurnie Maupay rumours I thought Wilder had only got £20 million to spend and we've spent £6 million on Freeman already?

Forgot to charge my phone last night and didn't take a charger to work and ran out of battery about 10am.

Was an excited kid all-day waiting to get home hoping to see a new signing but no, just more IFS what ifs and maybes.

🙄

Int life just like that. I was looking forward to getting married and being satiated every night :(

Sharp is better than Maupay so Sharp starts.

Think I'm getting caught up in the off season frenzy, but I have to agree with you!! Haven't been impressed the times I've seen maupay and would be amazed if we spunk c£20m on him...

McBurnie offers a little more, but to be honest I'm underwhelmed by both, and no way are either worth £20m...
