If we do it any fears for next season?

People seem to overestimate the money that is around the Championship. Teams like QPR, Norwich (and Villa) have parachute payments at their disposal but they're still shit. Wendy have spent vast fortunes but can't keep up with properly-talented teams. All the money at the aforementioned clubs counts for nothng if an idiot is the manager.

Nah, we'll piss it, mid table at least no problem. Let's not buy into the Pork's self-protection propaganda. They are shitting themselves. Five years when they could have pulled away and opened up a meaningful gap, and yet come August we'll be back alongside them, maybe even above them.

They must be gutted. :D

They've talked themselves into a corner...

Brilliant isn't it, the pressure they've heaped on themselves..

In terms of competing in the championship. Everyone is going on about how much clubs spend etc. Which is true for about 8 clubs. Those teams we cannot compete fiancially.

But what about Barnsley? They have competed this year! And sold everyone. There not too far off a playoff spot. Swfc spent 20+ million and are 7th, teams like Preston Barnsley spent nothing in comparison are 8h/9th.

Financially we can compete with a majority.

We should not fear the Championship the Championship should fear us.
If a team as clueless as Carlos the dreamers shower can skirt on the lower edge of the play offs the standard must be the worst in living memory

I think we will be ok ,might be a period of adjustment for the management team but they seem to be quick learners

Should be an exciting season with some big games and some bumper crowds

For me finishing outside of relegation is all that's needed. Financially we aren't in the bottom few spenders.

Barnsleys team was mainly league one standard players that have proven to beexcellent in the championship. Hourihane and Winall etc.

We do the same a bit of luck we can be topn10

My fear is McCabe and bog roll Prince who don't have the £££££'s of clout needed will do a deal with investors who will plough in millions but over commercialise the club and fail to win promotion. Look at the likes of Coventry, Cardiff et al.

McCabe is a Blade and was born in Highfield. Despite a few on here refusing to accept it, he has put about £50m into the club to keep us going. Poor player/manager recruitment aside, he has show a very significant^ commitment to the club.

On that basis we have to trust him to do the 'right thing'. He WILL bring outside investment in as he doesn't have the wealth himself, but he will do it for the right reasons.

Was going to post the same thing. Say what you like about him, and I know plenty do - all the fucking time - but he's not going to sell the heart of the club and turn us into a joke. Isn't that why he would only see half the club to our unknown Saudi friend? Just in case they guy got reckless and did a whole bunch of crazy shit?

Couldn't agree more. He's made some crazy shit decisions himself but I'm sure most can see he has the best interests of the club at heart

You only have to look at Preston, not spent massive amounts and not finished anywhere near the bottom since they went up.

Answer: Grayson. This guy's got to be Wilder's long lost twin brother, probably separated at birth.

Owners get things wrong .Most clubs go through shit periods due to poor appointments. Thats why aston villa and newsatle are in the championship. Would not be shocked if Forest end up back in league one. When we get back the common sense work ethics CW and Knill employ will see us ok

It may seem we 'ship a lot of goals' but our goal difference is +27. What does that tell you?

Yes our goal difference is +27 but this is L1 where we're the best side by far, obviously we won't be the best side next season. Don't get me wrong I don't think we'll come back down, but what I'm saying is if we don't strengthen the defence in a higher division we will find ourselves in the relegation fight at least.

So far this season we've conceded just over a goal a game on average and this is in L1, so you can double that in the Championship if we don't strengthen. But as I said earlier I'm confident the management will recognise that our defence needs strengthening in the summer, otherwise it will be a long season.

most of the time its conceding goals away from home at home we've had quite a few clean sheets atm i could care less about clean sheets away from home and am confident it will be sorted out in the summer

My fear is us "doing a sheff utd" and cashing in on our few crown jewels that could make the step up in summer (Fleck, Coutts, Freeman, O'Connell, Sharp (but I don't think he'd leave) etc etc). It would be typical of united to have such a barnstorming season and then ruin it all for a quick buck.

It will be interesting to see what next seasons approach will be. I reckon we'll still be attack minded but I agree that we'll need to add more quality at both ends in order to maintain our current balance between attack and defence.
