Its been 6 seasons since we were int Championship. It's changed a lot in that time and continues to have clubs coming down with at least £100M. I think we will be as competitive as the Pigs and Dingles have been and don't envisage doing a Wigan.

We will arrive with an average home gate approaching 30,000, a PL stadium and based in a city centre location, therefore very attractive to investors.

My fear is McCabe and bog roll Prince who don't have the £££££'s of clout needed will do a deal with investors who will plough in millions but over commercialise the club and fail to win promotion. Look at the likes of Coventry, Cardiff et al.

But my biggest fear is not getting promoted. Said it before if we need to win or draw with relegated Chesterfield we all know who will score the only goal of the game..... He who's name cannot be spoken!

It's the sort of BladeyBlade, Bladey McBlade face thing that could just happen!

Fact is I don't know how much more McCabe feels like putting in or how much the Prince has to spend if we get there. No reason to think we won't have enough behind us to go out and compete with the bottom few, and first season up there it's a case of finding three worse clubs and pushing on if you can. Also depends on if Wilder still has his eye for recruitment up a level.

Don't worry about funders , investors . We are not within the M25 orbital .

Don't worry about not getting promoted . Think one game at a time like Wilder and Knill.

Fuck Mr Evans . , we have players who have dealt with better opposing forwards this season . If any player can motivate Wilder and the team it is him . It's only us fans who still see him as a goal machine .

The name of the game next season is not to struggle .

None whatsoever for the team. Bit concerned about the fans. Might be too busy doffing their caps to support the team and struck dumb with fear at the thought of playing Barnsley, Burton, Brentford, Fleetwood, Bolton or Bristol City. It chills you to the bone.

Won't be their fault, though....

I'm concerned that we'll struggle to hold on to our better players once they start showing they're shit hot - even in the Championship.

I would like to think that Wilder will do all he can to make sure it doesn't happen. If the owners go against his advice, then I see Wilder and Knill walking away ... then we will be up shit creek without a paddle.

Not there yet and let's not get ahead of ourselves ,but you can bet we will be looking at players who can make us better and stronger next season ,
If we did miss out the present squad with a few tweaks would do it next season anyway (not being negative ,I think we will do it this season ).
Being in such a strong position gives the scouts and management team licence to get the recruitment lined up early as I said earlier let's not get ahead of ourselves but we do have the opportunity to trawl the market earlier which will stand us in good stead if and when we get over the line.

I don't doubt that there are valid concerns, but can't we enjoy this season without looking for reasons to be fearful sometime in the future?

In my humble opinion, if we are promoted, McCabe needs to sign up this management team to a serious, long term, fuck off contract - nothing less.

If we lose to Chesterfield I'll join alcoblade with a bare bum on the City Hall steps.

When that day comes we'll have promotion in the bag and will almost certainly be Champions by a distance, with the trophy waiting in the stand to be presented, while the Spireites will already have both feet in the 4th Division. It's going to be a big, fun party.

I know it's tough, but just try to hang on to the game changing investment quote..

It's all I'm doing, and tbh, we've had a shed load of money thrown at it during this league one experience, just look at Roy's views to see we are regarded as the Man City of leauge one,and that isn't cause we've won owt... obviously..

As for future investors, if what I'm told is right, we'll be fine in the champ until we get out of that division..

"Investors are lined up for when we reach the championship"

Appreciate this is a humorous post but go up or not I suspect we will be getting bids for Fleck.

I am saying now accept nothing less than £10m

My only fear (well a slight concern rather than a fear) is that we've conceded quite a fair amount of goals for a team that will inevitably become Champions. So playing next season in a higher league in the Championship, which is often regarded as one of the most toughest and competitive leagues in the world means we'll obviously be conceding ship loads of goals, therefore being on the losing end of a lot of games.

So hopefully CW and AK will recognise that the priority in the summer should be to sign at least one (preferably two) decent centre halves to play alongside JO'C.

Additionally a wide man and a striker should be the next priorities and we will be absolutely fine in our first season back in the Championship.

None whatsoever.

And let's be clear about one thing. By the time Chesterfield turn up here for the last game of the season we'll be promoted. That match is an irrelevance - apart from the fact it will be a wild celebration of us lancing the boil of League 1 at last - in style.

The Prince has said he will invest at the next level. Whether that materialises or not no one knows. But someone will if he doesn't.

In every season except the last one we've been a force in the Championship and only narrowly missed out on going up.

I expect we will be even more of a force with this manager in charge.

Very optimistic!

The main fear would have to be somehow losing Wilder.

On the pitch I'm certain we'd stay up, so as long as we do that I wouldn't be worried about anything.

Credit to McCabe, he hasn't sold the club down the river to any of these investor types and do not believe he would. Unless, he thought it was in the best interest of the football club.

I agree, but the trouble is it doesn't take long for things to go wrong. Charlton for instance were one of the best run clubs around under Richard Murray, now they're in the well-documented situation they're in now.
My concern is that McCabe could, with the best of intentions hand over the reins to somebody questionable rather than not secure an investment at all before he goes. Im not saying it'll happen, or that it's especially likely but it's possible.

It's a question which can't really be answered until after the summer.

If we don't improve the squad, we'll more than likely be in a relegation battle. But I'm sure improvements will be made, so we'll have to wait and see if the signings are good enough.

Does anyone actually think that CW and AK will somehow stop being able to spot quality players with good attitude because we have gone up a division?

No. I think that as you step up the divisions there's much tougher competition to attract those players. You're competing with clubs with a similar appeal, better managers with stronger scouting networks, and bigger budgets to pay for them. It's just an all round better field. We have the benefit in League One that when we want to sign a player like Carruthers then we're by far one of the most attractive prospects. We won't have that in the Championship. We can still compete, we've done it before, but it'll be harder.

Nah, we'll piss it, mid table at least no problem. Let's not buy into the Pork's self-protection propaganda. They are shitting themselves. Five years when they could have pulled away and opened up a meaningful gap, and yet come August we'll be back alongside them, maybe even above them.

They must be gutted. :D

It may seem we 'ship a lot of goals' but our goal difference is +27. What does that tell you?
