If we do go up…

You negative Nelly the blades have won and are 7 points clear

I’m joking as per most of my posts/threads

Can you enjoy the win ?

How can anyone watch that and enjoy it ?

I get called negative but we have been bang average for months , and we will have no chance with this manager in charge absolutely no chance In the prem if we fall over the line

What a strange post for tonight.

If we didn't sign anyone we might be.

But if we are allowed to sign players than we shall see.

The likes of N'Diaye, Berge, Egan, Baldock, Norwood, Bogle, McBurnie, Anel have shown they can either play at the level above or are capable.

In the past so did Basham, Stevens, Fleck and to even Sharp. But I reckon these would very much be squad fillers now at the most.

Doyle and Macatee might actually benefit from being in the league above especially a player like macatee. But these aren't our players.

But a strange post and I ain't worrying one bit about it because we are far from up. If we go up we can worry about that.

I hope we are the worst side ever to win the fa cup aswell, then next season the worst side to ever stay up.

I hope so aswell

But in theory you have to be a good team to do both those things

There are no bad teams in the Prem

Will he be one of the worst, or even the worst, automatically promoted sides since it became the championship?

Cardiff 2018 were pretty poor but let’s be clear we are not a ‘good’ side by any definition. To preempt the ‘oh can’t you just enjoy the win’ it’s a genuine question, not a rhetorical one to try to appear negative. Has there actually been worse than us?

Are any of our team premier league quality? Ndiaye being an obvious exception. But it’s hard to make a strong argument for any of the others. So slow, disjointed and lethargic in most areas of the pitch it’s far from entertaining that’s for sure! Promotion is meant to be fun but it has somehow felt like mental torture since we came back from the World Cup at least!
sorry bud but genuinely can’t get into your mindset after going SEVEN POINTS CLEAR!….UTB.

Oh for fucks sake! The only mental torture is reading crap like this. IF we go up let's see whose still retained from this squad and decide then.

FFS worry about that if and when it happens, some people love being negative.

Give your head a wobble we are 2nd on merit and fa cup quater finalists and we beat the prems 5th club with ease

Ignoring the needless negativity, we currently have 67 points.

Blackpool got promoted with 70 points. Unless we have a cataclysmic run in, and somehow still go up, we'll be fine.

In terms of automatics, there have been several teams to finish in 2nd with less than 80 points. If we can at least get 13 points from the next 33 then we'll have already beaten that anyway.

I'm sorry for bucking the trend but I agree with you. For me it's still a big IF that we do go up (especially if the injuries tonight prove to be weeks not days) but I feel none of the vibe from Wilder, Warnock & Bassett promotions to the top tier. I don't necessarily mind but it hasn't been entertaining. Boro beat Reading 5-0 (albeit at home) and we cling on to a 1-0 away win. This kind of sums it up.

We'll be there Saturday but unless we score early, I can see the tension filtering down to the team and vice versa. A very strange season.

It doesn’t have to mean you’re being negative. You can acknowledge and be happy that we’ve won whilst observing that we aren’t great to watch.

Wonder if Fulham and Bournemouth played shit hot in every game last season and gave their fans a stonker on after every match....I can think of at least 2 Fulham games where they didn't.

We beat them 4-0 at home too. Seems happy days to me

Threads like this piss me off. "A worse side promoted"

We are 2nd. Every team in the division plays 46 games, 2 against everyone. So to answer your question, no. We are the 2nd best team this season.

People keep saying boro are fantastic and scoring goals how come our gd is better
Don't deny they look good at the Riverside....but don't play so expensively away..
And we are now 9 points clear of Blackburn and 13 points clear of Millwall in 7th

And cut Burnleys lead to 10 points

If they lose to us Blackburn and boro be interesting as Burnley have to play 2nd 3rd and 4th in a month

Absolute nonsense as usual. We are a good team just not in great nick. Haven’t Reading scored 2+ goals in their previous six games home games btw?

Who cares?? Take the money and run, I'd rather be crap in the Prem and safeguard the club for a few more years than stay in the Championship and potentially end up in admin next season!
Exactly

What tension? Where's that coming from?

I didn't watch the Boro vs Reading game but the stats speak for themselves 2 penalties for the 5 goals. Boro had 6 shots on target and scored 5, Reading had 0. Boro with a 66% percentage rate.

That said tonight fairly even possession and shots on target stats, Reading would have had some words said going into tonight's game, they are in a bit of no man's land where they are 11 points off playoffs but 12 off relegation so likely to try and keep things tight.

We probably didnt give them enough credit they haven't lost at home since the start of November winning 6 during that time. Alot of people were thinking the points were a gimme but we had to win them. I am happy to scrap every game 1-0 if it gets us to where we need to be.

Most importantly, if we win all our games we are Centurions again!

What tension? Where's that coming from?
Recent home games seem to follow a trend, halfway through the first half v boro the crowd starting to go quiet and as the game progressed, this increased. during previous promotion seasons the crowd were always behind the team and drove us on - always think of the last minute equaliser v newcastle in 1990. Currently we're passive and only moved when well ahead or negative when behind. Hopefully I'm wrong and if it's 0-0 or 0-1 after 80 mins v luton, the fans will drive the team on??
