...and yet perfectly illustrated a comparison of win percentage.

I'd hazard a guess that that will be the thing that matters most whilst managing the Blades.

The more he wins, the better?

I hear that's how it works, yeah. At least, that's the rumour, we've not seen too much of it of late have we?

Like I said before, I hope he proves me wrong. Painfully wrong, in fact.

39% is by no means bad, if you take in to account the various factors that set the bar for success/failure in each particular case. It's very clumsy to draw absolute conclusions on Wilson without having a fairly in depth knowledge of his career.

agree with you here kent,39% is not a bad record, throughout, warnocks career management record is 39.6 % and blackwells is 39.5%, so reading it like this wilsons record aint that bad

With me its not his win ratio etc, its just that the whole appointment is so dull and uninspiring. A real chance has been missed to get a young fresh faced and on the up manager. Macabe has interviewed 12 candidates and has come up with a journeyman manager on the downward slope of his career and missed a chance to really make a statement.

Wilson seems a decent enough sort of bloke and must be delighted he has got the job when his last three jobs have been at "smaller" clubs in the same division however I can't get away from this nagging feeling that we could have done so much better.

Fact is, its an unpopular appointment but the blokes here now and we should see how he gets on with it. FFS get out of the car park and lets see what happens. If he fucks it up he will be gone by christmas. Hopefully then people will vent their spleens at the real reason we are in the shit that we are.

If someone other than McCabe had hired McCabe's long list of failing managers McCabe would have sacked him by now!

I think it's important to recognise that Wilson is only someone who played for and managed Wednesday, he's not actually a Wednesday fan.

what like gary speed ?,he used to send me to sleep,he was as bad as SoD in his interviews, personally i think speed took on more than he bargained for and he really should have had inside info on the club and if he had not seen the problems, then he really was a wanker for taking the job. he must have shit himself when it dawned on him,the size of the task, and the welsh FA are no better than the blades board they too have hired a manager with no experience

Sorry that should have said an up and coming manager who has had a bit of success a bit like Keith Hill at Rochdale who it seems once he realised he has lost out to Wilson has decided to go to Barnsley
