Sheffield Wednesday. Wouldn't argue that he failed there. But given some of the totally irrational hatred for them...

Poor show Foxy, focussing on one part of what I said. Tut tut.
...and yet perfectly illustrated a comparison of win percentage.
I'd hazard a guess that that will be the thing that matters most whilst managing the Blades.
The more he wins, the better?
39% is by no means bad, if you take in to account the various factors that set the bar for success/failure in each particular case. It's very clumsy to draw absolute conclusions on Wilson without having a fairly in depth knowledge of his career.
I don't think OB or anyone else is suggesting he's a good manager, they may however be suggesting that he's not as bad a manager as some are pointing out!
Off the top of my head the only backroom staff that Wendy had that were ex Blades are John Harris (under Jack Charlton), Frank Barlow and Dennis Finnegan (Youth)
With me its not his win ratio etc, its just that the whole appointment is so dull and uninspiring. A real chance has been missed to get a young fresh faced and on the up manager. Macabe has interviewed 12 candidates and has come up with a journeyman manager on the downward slope of his career and missed a chance to really make a statement.
Wilson seems a decent enough sort of bloke and must be delighted he has got the job when his last three jobs have been at "smaller" clubs in the same division however I can't get away from this nagging feeling that we could have done so much better.
what like gary speed ?,he used to send me to sleep,he was as bad as SoD in his interviews, personally i think speed took on more than he bargained for and he really should have had inside info on the club and if he had not seen the problems, then he really was a wanker for taking the job. he must have shit himself when it dawned on him,the size of the task, and the welsh FA are no better than the blades board they too have hired a manager with no experience
