Will be interesting to see Bergen's take on the game. Adkins sounded hoarse in the post match interview, expect the players got the hair dryer treatment post match.

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned the interview.

He talked about the game becoming randomised and I think said pretty much explicitly that the team had gone off-plan.

I suspect he's talking about the large amount of hoof we went for when we were 2-1 down. Long ball was part.of the plan, but we were meant to be mixing it with short stuff as well.

We've certainly got nowhere near close to finding adequate replacements for the players we've let go, despite being told all the money was available.
Yes we have got close. The permanent Burn deal fell through at the last minute and we're trying to bring him in on loan.

Secondly, money not being spent is not the same as money not being available

Almost signing a bloke on the last day of the transfer window and then maybe getting him on loan a month later does not make up for selling your best player every single season and not replacing.
I imagine Kevin Mcdonald's replacement is just around the corner too.

Its like telling a story or having a theory going way back , and the only thing we understand , is that we would be far better off , if we had not sold the player (s) , in the first place . Some of the players wanted to leave the club , some we did sell at the wrong time .

The issue for me is the last five years , which is our shortcoming , because we haven't yet reached a conclusion , and we are all sensing , that nothing is coming to a end , even this early in the season . Thats why we all get humpty when we lose , and the forum goes into melt down , especially after a uneventful week ,with no match last Saturday . . Promotion would change the fans persona of the club and players in general . Until this happens , we are all in limbo , and feel we have accomplished nothing , except mistake after mistake.

Adkins will resolve the CB / CM issue , but the line of reasoning ( and not dropping points ) has to come into it , until any deals are resolved , by all parties . The concern would be , if we had not got the money , we have , its just got to be spent wisely , on players who will add to the teams consistancy , and bring improvement.

It will be sorted , but it still does not guarantee , that we will walk this league , but it will shorten the odds .

Fatty Baxter and Flo were supposed to be MacDonald's replacement. That they haven't been isn't the board's fault, it was Weir's.
Both Clough and Adkins have been allowed to bring in players who would not have been cheap, particularly in wages, and I've no reason to believe we won't bring players in on loan, probably with a view to making it permanent in the JTW.

Pre-Prince, we were in a bad state; poor squad and an owner sick of losing money. Our budget v expectations was so unrealistic we couldn't attract a proper manager. Since then, Clough was backed in all three windows. Providing NA is similarly supported, he'll get us up. Even if he isn't, he may still do anyway given time as he got Scunny up without a huge budget. We've got a good one here and we need to stick with him like we stuck with Warnock.

It was a shit result, a really shit result, but NA will have learned a lot from yesterday.

The point was we've certainly got nowhere near close, unless Adkins has joined the conspiracy then we have demonstrably got close.

On a wider point. Do we need a replacement for Murphy, or a CH, or a CM or some combination - from the Murphy money?

And what is the Board's and management's motivation for deliberately jeopardising our chances of promotion?

I personally think a commanding Centre Half is an absolute necessity. Yes we have only lost two games, but in these two games we've conceded 7 goals, and if we keep losing two games in every 6, will that be enough to go up in the top two?

I certainly don't think they are deliberately jeopardising our chances of promotion.

I think it's a mixture of them being very inexperienced when it comes to football, and thinking we can get out of this league without spending very much money

Coming close isn't good enough. We've been using that one for a few transfer windows now.

Do your business early and get it sorted. We like leaving it to the last minute, and guess what, it often goes wrong.

I can kind of understand it this time with a new manager coming in, but someone must have put together one heck of a video to showcase J-Mac...

But this happens every season, it is where the saying "We tried for some but ..........." came from.
