Idiotic Blades fans

We all have to move with the times and one downside to the tinter web and social media is the show off look at me/us culture.

Even older people act like pricks for the sake of likes, shares and retweets.

In my 35 plus years of going to our games there's always been stupid behaviour like any other team, but this latest coked up film me being a cunt stuff of recent years is becoming wearing. Especially when most of it isn't in any way aimed at backing the team during the game.

Will reiterate what the others have said dronny_blade - do pass on our best wishes.

I've taken temporary retirement from away games. At (quite obviously) 7 months pregnant, I can't cope with pissed up blokes shoving me and diving over chairs to land on me when we score. I can't cope with standing up for 90 minutes despite requesting tickets near the front... Or specifying seated tickets where, even when there's an option to stand elsewhere, people insist on standing up. No one appears to give two shits about anyone else's safety or comfort and as it can't be guaranteed while we have such fuckwits in the crowd, I'll just have to stop going.

Look at all the anger when a Bolton fan attacked a Blade. Some fucking idiots in our own fanbase are doing the same, to their own!

And that, I'm afraid, says everything about the state of our game in 2017, in one poetic statement.

Whereas this (below) gives us genuine hope for the future:-

Being in the similar age bracket to most of the idiots that use pyro, I know why they do what they do. It's all for social media reputation, they go to away games as a group, clearly funded by the bank of mum and dad, dressed in Stone Island etc. They'll get a picture of them all together probably pre match, once in ground they'll be amongst the madness in concourse, making sure they get a few videos. Of course then if a goal is scored, maybe even when one hasn't, they'll set a pyro off, lob it straight away so they aren't caught, then they'll have phones at the ready to get a good picture. They don't give a shit about who's around them or where it lands, but it doesn't matter cos they'll get a few likes on Instagram/twitter and be talk of the school the following Monday. It's all geared towards how they represent themselves on social media, they don't care about the football but use it as an excuse to behave how they want.

Personally had a few bad experiences with these bellends. Scunny away 2015, group of 6/7 on row behind, set a pyro off left it at my granddads feet, once confronted they shit themselves and barely said a word for rest of the game. Man Utd away also similar, large group row behind, with 2/3 crammed to one seat, kept pushing each other all game for a laugh, but we kept getting whacked by them on the row in front. Confronted again, piped down again. Older Blades need to teach them a lesson, funnily enough it's the only thing they're scared, not the police.

Well said sir.

Would give the pair of you a hug, if I could. And not in a Lydon way.

This wouldn't have worked yesterday. We were towards the left hand end of the stand, and our tickets were next to a gangway. At the start of the second half there was a mass influx of dickheads who had obviously moved just so they could go on the pitch if we scored. They were stood in the gangways and all along the front. Stewards did nothing about it. I knew the pitch invasion would come if we scored, unfortunately.
Agree entirely, we were in the last block with 2 seats by the aisle, first half 10 minutes in a group of 40 year olds suddenly arrived to stand in the aisle, looked high as kites and could only mumble "who scored pal?". After half-time hordes of younger morons arrived in the aisle more intent on threatening the 15 year olds banging the drum in the Rochdale end than watching the football. After the embarrassing pitch invasion and watching these pricks concentrating more on baiting the home fans rather than supporting their team we decided that there must be lots of space at the other end of the stand. Having fought our way down the aisle we were then treated to the gathering of idiots at the front, again concentrating on taunting the Rochdale fans behind the goal to our right.
By the time the final whistle went I'd had enough, I'd not travelled as much to away games since the Huddersfield play-off final when some piss-head told my wife to fuck-off when she asked him politely to sit down because she couldn't see and him and his mate were the only two people to be stood up. I've had my season tickets for the past 44 years and have been on many away trips in that time. Sat on the coach I could only reflect on how embarrassing
I don't think it's confined to the younger element, there was a similar atmosphere at Peterborough last month, I don't know what the answer is but just try putting your effort into supporting the team and respecting everyone else.

Hopefully he's not put off, but i never get these idiots. They need a reality check they think their at Galatasaray vs Fenerbahçe or River Plate V Boca Juniors when their actually at Rochdale. Also as someone put above they have no concept of team just utterly selfish. Im bringing it i have consideration for anyone else's needs

Perhaps a LYDON hug as a punishment would nip it in the bud straight away?

All that is required is a dose of consideration for fellow Blades... You can still do what you do, without impacting your fellow supporters.

Sadly its entirely beyond a number and they'd rather argue with anyone who politely reminds them what they are doing.

Agree with so much of what you say young 'un, it also explains why I go to so few games. My mobility has worsened over the last 18 months, thus the thought of a bunch of mindless, even selfish, oafs pushing me and causing me to stumble, possibly falling and damaging my legs, isn't an option I feel I can gamble with. By all means celebrate when the Blades score or win, but the notion of respecting those around you seems to have vanished, and now belongs to some antiquated concept of being pleasant and mindful of the welfare of those around you. What we now have is a mindset that thinks no farther than 'having a laugh' simply because the alternative is dreary and, dare I say it, civilised.

I'd be quite content if anyone, young or old, who considered behaviour that could harm others to be in anyway acceptable, might face prosecution, even to the extent of being banned, and that they'd have brought this upon themselves. But I guess this would be asking too much, and would spoil their afternoon of idiotic behaviour.

Suspect they won't be giving it the big un at Leeds, Derby, Forest, Birmingham etc as some of the fans there won't have a bar of it. Will probably do them good.

The way many of our so called " fans " celebrate goals has gone way too far . Peterborough away is a great case in point . I was hugged by some pissed up bloke that I'd never seen before whilst it was pandemonium all around me . I was genuinely afraid for my own personal safety that day . Grown men were going absolutely mental all over the place . Where have all these idiots come from ? If they refuse to remain calm during the game get the fuckers out !

I don't think anyone is advocating remaining calm on scoring, but having a bit of consideration as a fully grown (dare I say, overweight) bloke to not launch yourself on top of people isn't too much to ask.

18 stone pissed up bloke v. 10 stone woman or 7 year old kid. Who is going to get hurt in that scenario?

Peterborough is an interesting one to pick out though. The blokes raining down on us saw 15 minutes of the first half and reappeared 15 minutes into the second half.

You must look gay ducky ;)

In all fairness people going mad after we score isn't an issue for me.

Trouble is since all seater stadia people who love the mosh, and those who don't can't choose their preferred vantage point.

I got hit in the face with a bottle of brown sauce at one away game, wasn't funny at the time but I do chuckle about it now. It was during the mad ten minutes these youths seem to have at half time.

It's a shame really that they go mad in the concourse but then we go out for the second half and it's silent no singing or atmosphere yet 5 minutes previous they were bouncing around singing and acting the goat. Like someone said above it's not about supporting the team or creating an atmosphere anymore it's about how they look on social media.

I appreciate the madness that ensues following an important last minute goal, Fulham away in the cup lads broke limbs flying over seats, a few years ago Ched scored at Scunny and as I jumped someone behind me bumped into me and I went flying down the steps, ended up battered and bruised about 7 rows down from where I started and I loved every minute of it. In the heat of the moment it was great but looking back if I'd have landed on a child or an elderly person I could've caused them a serious injury.

Not saying it's right but personally I wouldn't take my little ones to an away game, at least at home I can sit in the family stand away from home you could end up sat next to anyone. Fans taking drugs out in the open, using awful language, pushing, fighting and aggression not gunna put my kids through that.

Rowdy behaviour has always been there at away matches but it does seem to be getting worst , and as you say , with no thought of your own , drugs , alcohol .

It will only get worst , the higher the league we are in .
Do our deluded S6 neighbours have the same problems as we do . Would like to know .

Our younger end fans do have the run of away matches due to the level of support we take . Will it get worst or is it different and more controlled in the championship , CCTV , stewarding , police etc .

Football these days has no honour or respect and seems to be spreading onto the terraces with the younger end .

Not good and could affect future up and coming fan base , which we need .

Facebook twitter YouTube its the new battleground .that about sums it up

I'm advocating it linz . I'm also advocating bans for those who can't contain themselves . If they are too stupid to realise they are a danger to themselves , fine . But when they endanger the life's of those around them then it's time to act .

Awww little snowflake, hope you're OK.

Have to agree about the look at me on Facebook with my stone island top and can of fosters in my hand brigade. I'm early 30's so I'd look ridiculous doing anything like that although I do like to tag myself into away grounds or the pubs close by more for future reference to look back on as Facebook will become a "memory bank" years down the line as it's already becoming.

Awww little snowflake, hope you're OK.

I'm ok now thanks . But it has affected me and my thoughts on attending away matches . So much so that I've written to the FSA asking them to review current policies on the sale of alcohol at football grounds ..... I don't think it should be allowed . And secondly , I'm in the process of drafting a letter to the Chief of police in all areas we have yet to travel to imploring them to adopt a very robust approach to anyone attempting to enter the ground who has been drinking . It's a criminal offence to enter a sports stadium drunk but you wouldn't think so looking at a significant level of our ' supporters ' at 3.00 o'clock .

Mindless morons who do things like this are not Blades in a million years all they are is brain dead. Hope they get caught and a life ban !!!!

18 stone pissed up bloke v. 10 stone woman or 7 year old kid. Who is going to get hurt in that scenario?

Chuffing hell Linz I may be able to do the pissed bit but I've got no chance of doing the 18st.

There can't be many of them around ;)

All that because someone hugged you.

You sound fun.

A hug ???????? Get real . It was a flagrant invasion of my personal space that made me afraid for my own personal safety . That's a criminal offence ..... section 4 to be precise .

Let me guess though ..... clear breaches of the law are fine for you , it's only a bit of a laugh isn't it ? Grow up .

And another thing; smoking in the toilets. It's congested enough in the toilets at half-time without people turning it into a makeshift smoking area. Lung-cancer city.
I couldn't even get to the toilet at half time yesterday. All the crowd down there were more interested in filming the idiots that were jumping off the turnstiles that they were about letting people past them who wanted to go to the loo.
