Lavers, Wards, Blades - The 90's were a peak period of Sheffield United shirt sponsors.

Now that Forgemasters has got some (govt) money again, that'd be a perfect sponsor.

Always liked the idea of the local sponsor but please, Allah, God, Buddha if any of you exist don't let us have some good awful fucking reference to being Northern or from Sheffield. The flat cap Ey Up monstrosity on their shirts makes me cringe every time I see it. I'm refusing to be part of this fan base if we end up walking out with a sponsor that's something like "Nah then! Casinos" or some other rubbish.

What was wrong with booze sponsors? Carlsberg, Wards, Newcastle Brown all looked alright. Hopefully we don't go down the route of some tacky fad sponsor or gambling firm.

With that being said, what is it that's stopping us confirming a sponsor. I mean I've no doubt there's plenty of options but if I'm honest I don't know the criteria required to be accepted as a sponsor

Wouldnt put a sleeve sponsor out of the question though, and id very much take it.

It’s interesting that we are far from being alone in the Premier League in not having a sponsor yet for next season.

The only sponsors left for most of the league appear to be gambling organisations and state owned airlines.

I do feel clubs are overvaluing it a little bit. Manchester United may have a claim for global advertising reach when their shirts are being sold all over the world. For the likes of ourselves and the lower end of the table most viewers will barely notice the name on the shirt.
