How about this photograph, to the left

<------------------------------------------

A Blades captain that actually won something! Absolutely iconic

Interestingly only 3 captains have ever lifted a major trophy

Needham - League 1898, FAC 1899, 1902
Utley - FAC 1915
Gilliespie - FAC 1925

Now that is depressing :-(

Mind you, if you look at the clubs in the premier league this season, 7 of them have had fewer captains lifting a major trophy than we have. And another 2 (Burnley and West Ham - assuming the inter toto cup doesn't count! ) have had the same number as us.

I'm wanting to do a range of iconic Blades images. An artistic biography of SUFC's greatest moments.

Starting off with this one:

I'm not really interested in match action/goal scoring shots - Is there a photo of TC sat on the ball anywhere? That kind of thing.

Please help me build the collection - post the pictures here.

Sorry pal, had to do it!

I concur with the opening post ;)

One I always liked is the pic of the end at Darlington after Hatton scored.
Is it this one? What a stunning photograph.

Hope you can see this. I'm interested in blades related images that capture the moment, not necessarily match related .

Like I remember a few days after the Huddersfield Wembley defeat we went on holiday to Florence well pissed off.
I saw a young lad wearing a united shirt in the far corner of main square chasing pigeons, it made my day. Blades related, completely out of context and alas no camera. But it started me on Pinterest. Was it you?

You can't tell from that photo, but I've seen that photo from other angles and I swear he's about 6 feet off the floor.

He did jump very high up if I remember rightly. If he wants a career running hurdles then he should do well.

Its not really the players themselves that I'm after, more the situation or stories that the images portray which is why I liked the bassett/agana image and the TC one fits perfectly with what I'm after.

If you look at my av it's Morgs dumping Tevez on the deck. The look on his face is priceless.

In my early years as a blade I think the most iconic picture would be if anyone has one, a picture of the old "score update" boards across the front of the BLS with A always the Wendy score.
As iconic a part of BDTBL as you will find and a lot of memories for older blades who remember life before electronic scoreboards.

Remember Match of the Day that night, commentator says

'I don't think Carlos Tevez has ever met a footballer quite like Chris Morgan.'

The look on Tevez face you'd have to agree.
