On RS, KB has told him he has no future at SUFC...

Wouldn't get in our team ahead of any of the four/five strikers currently at the club. Will only fit the right type of tactics for our squad overall.

Sell for 1.5 million and reinvest.

Sorry Billy, it just wasn't mean to be.

Same as Sharp.

I have heard that, also that Spurs are weighing up PL offers to loan him... I did hear that he had moved back to Sheffield though also, so god knows what is happening there!

he is scoring for fun whilst evans seems unable to find the net, camara is in and out... ok, so what the manager says should be what goes but it says a lot for our tactics if we cant get a goal out of a free scoring goal machine like sharp.

Yes he did... though he didnt sound hopeful, did he?

To be fair he didn't, but he didn't sound like he had told everyone to p-off until Blackie was sacked (as in the latest ITK rumours). Its a shame for the lad. I'm sure he would come back and play, but he had a chance or twenty seven with us, and he just doesn't fit. He's best where he is, scoring a few goals for that nice footballing side Donny Rovers (13th, 33pts)...

I thought he was very much saying there was a rift with Blackwell and that he wouldnt get a look in whilst KB was here

Funny how we hear things differently. I didn't hear any suggestion of a rift particularly, just that he'd been told by Blackie that he wouldn't get any more chances here.

Yeah, I wouldnt say I'm right and you're wrong, I suppose its how you interpret things. i was concentrating on driving at the time :)

Suppose it will be on FH tonight after which a few more will have heard it and we'll maybe get some kind of level on it?

A mate of his told us he would love to play for Utd but not while Blackwell was here.

heard it from the horses mouth on eccy road Christmas eve. Didn't have too many kind words for our manager that night.

just heard the interview, IMO he is saying blackwell doesnt want him to play, not that sharp doesnt want to.

Not being funny, I like Billy and want him to do well for US, but I just don't think he'll fit in with the way we play as Blackie won't get us playing the type of football that Billy lives off. Nothing particularly wrong with that per se just the way we play.

But isn't it unprofessional of Billy to be saying things like that to the public when he's still contracted to the club?

He wouldn't play for Robson and now Blackwell...

youre taking the title too literally i said it was KB that didnt want him not that he wouldnt

Billy cant score regularly for United. Simple as that. I would love to see the young local hero start banging them in for us but I guarantee if he came back the goals would dry up again.

Sometimes it just doesnt work for the player. IMO its a combination of the way we play and Billy's desperate burning desire to score goals at the lane. Sometimes you can try to hard and as a result you dont get the breaks. A lot of it could be down to the way we play under KB but despite complaints the manager clearly isnt going anywhere for some time so the only sensible thing seems to be to cash in on him.

The only way Billy will ever play for United again is if we miss out on the playoffs and KB resigns at the end of the season. Watch this space.....

Well spotted Dunc. I hadn't realised they were that close to us until you posted that (just 8 points behind and a game in hand!!!!).

As we get double their gates and pay (what will it be x2, x3 even) way more in wages, how come they can be so close to us?
You're right DD, it must be down to the style of football they play. Blackwell Out.

I think Sharp is only really effective at this level at a team like Donny, who work the ball up the pitch gradually as a unit, and then generally give the striker the ball in the box in the danger area. He lacks the pace to get in behind in the Championship and is fairly ineffectual at running the channels. I rate him as having plenty of bottle and got an eye for a goal, but the way Doncaster play is the exception to the rule at this level. I couldn't see him banging them in for many other clubs.

That said, he's a Blade and I wish him the best and hope he proves me wrong.

When Blackwell took over, he gave Sharp a pretty good run in the team for very little return. Can't really blame him if he's told Sharp he had his chance and didn't take it.

I think this statement has about as much effect as me saying I won't play for SUFC under Blackwell.
