I wonder how long it will be...

7. Bristol City outplayed us in the league last season.
Dominated possession.
How are we going to win it back the opening day with the managers players and tactics
Apart from a goal kick from a missed chance or a kick off after a goal.
Different manager and players for both teams. Highly unlikely that the league performances of last season will be repeated this coming season. Apart from Dickie who is on a hatrick.

Just bumping this for those who might want to reconsider their original comments 😊
Fell free to gloat, but it was a totally different game to any played last season. They didn't dominate possession we did. Two new managers, hence different styles.
We were always going to lose once Dickie wasn't playing.

We were missing all 3 of our CBs and playing against a team that beat PSG whilst finishing 4th in Ligue 1 last season. You maybe need to get a grip.
Prophetic words, Nick. Prophetic.

Grips needed all over the place.

(The OP got it spot on, just that the brigade that clamours for Keegan style chaos are the same people that will flip flop to “it’s a results” based game, again).

Pre season games are primarily a fitness drill, time for experimentation and players trying not to get injured.

So yeah let’s get upset and predict a miserable season because we conceded a few goals in pre season.

Will Hamer be running across his own 6 yard box against Bristol? No
Will burrows score a shitty own goal? No

Will we sign some more players before the deadline? Yes
😳

Hamer silly foul for Twine f/c
Burrows replaced with Binman for two deflections where he’s actually stood in front of Cooper obscuring his view.
Burrows way out of position cos he and Seriki are level with the opposition box at the start of a counter.

The plethora of signings before the last week of the window (still time)

Looks like mr muscle time on the crystal ball 😂

I stand by it. The transfer window has been undeniably chaotic but we are only two games in without a full squad in place. I’ll be reserving judgement until whatever squad we have in place when the window closes has bedded in. Until such time as judgment can be based on the actual facts of the matter rather than catastrophising the jury remains out

Yep. It all hinges on this coming week and how COH support Selles.

It’s leaving it late, though, very late and that appears to be poor planning - or even worse pure ignorance.

Should we fail to get enough quality in for the right places (and we appear to be in panic mode for just bodies, now) then mid table is realistically the absolute best we can expect.

My hope is that the owners learn a lot from this transfer window (and January) and adapt things accordingly for the future. They are still new at this game but they are not unintelligent people so we’ll see. I think we are crying out for a DoF above all else.

In the face of all evidence to the contrary, I'm still vainly holding out for the outcomes that it's us, the fans, who learn a lot.
If we do eventually succeed in getting the right players in that's a better outcome than getting any old players in, even if it comes at a cost with the early season results.

I've just double checked the definition of naive.

And in my, and many other's opinion, a new forward thinking, dynamic CEO with football experience at a much higher level. On that note I don't feel Ruben Selles should have had to go public regarding the "lethargic" recruitment situation which certainly hasn't helped him in his job. He should have had more support from our present "lame duck" CEO who is always conspicuous by his absence. Presently the way the club is being run is a mirror image, in many ways, of the previous incumbent just with a new coach in place. Personally I feel the only "moderniser" in the club is Ruben Selles and his coaching staff. The board including the CEO need to get on the same page.
