What I hated about being in the Prem!

We have had lots of great coverage but in the last 4 days I have watched Football focus where they got to the Arse v Blades and Martin Keown just talked about Arsenal.

MOTD where Ian Wright just talked about Arsenal and tonight where I have listened to 5 live for over an hour driving home. Multiple interviews and incessant discussion around FL's Chelski and Artetas Arsenal. Finally mentioned Sheff United. Long interview with Pep, no Wilder comment and then lets talk about Man City.

It does still feel like we just make up the numbers whilst the media obsess over the same old clubs.

I know some will shout me down, but it was almost laughable tonight, it was like only one club played in the match.

Could have sworn I heard Steve McHoweverthefuckyouspellhisname celebrating when Liverpool scored their second the other week.

Surprise package and they still want the establishment to win. Typical.

There is of course a level of biase within tired old formats such as MOTD, which i have hardly watched and when i do i only watch the goals/ highlights

But sky, BT sport and Amazon have all given us praise and air time.

The OP is dead right. R5L was totally cringe worthy and obsessed. Chelsea v Arsenal is not a particularly big game. Kenny Dalglishs daughter and the female pundit were embarrassing. An example was the never ending repeat of 'you gotta blame Chelsea for not kicking the ball out' blah blah blah for about 20 minutes. Dion Dublins comment on us was stupid. Man city had an 'off day'. Funny that eh? Don't credit or reference the opposition then you wazzock..
Talksport is actually better now.

That's fine by me

Did you watch the TV coverage before the West Ham game? It was literally a full hour completely focusing on us (including Neville and Carragher singing the greasy chip butty song in Man Friday). Barely any mention of West Ham at all.

I think that TV companies now tend to focus on one team at each game for the narrative. Personally, I prefer it like that. I’d rather have a proper analysis of one team than some politically-correct-has-to-be-exactly-fair-to-everyone coverage of both. We’ve had way more than our fair share of attention this year.

It's a good point, I think the difference is it was SKY, as SwissBlade says the op is really a dig at the BBC who's coverage gets worse and worse.

I took my mate last night who is a neutral and even he was laughing his head of at the fact they could talk about the game virtually without mentioning us.

Didn't you hear the home crowd gasps at Arsenal when we were outplaying them in the 1st half? They were totally unprepared for our pressure and style. We then panic them into silence. The more the lastpaychecks peddle imaginary knowledge of football the less opposition pressure we will attract to address our gameplans.
So bring it on..Dannycrooksgarthmills

Not to worry, I’m enjoying the season and sooner be where we are, than 10th in the championship, with no-one talking about us whatsoever. I suggest we make the most of it. After all the ‘bigger’ clubs will always get greater attention that’s life.

Just watched the match back on the box .

Commentary did seem to more biased towards city ‘finding the breakthrough’

Also when has Egan been known has Egg-an !

That literally made me shudder
Ha Ha, yes that doesn't trip off the tongue lightly does it? TS are a bit white van man/cockney wide boy but I find the BBC's incessant left wing political correction driven agenda mind numbingly tedious and even worse than TS*. PS - Stuart Pearce, absolute shambles of a failed manager/coach but decent pundit. Same goes for GNev
* is there anywhere for us grey haired white middle aged men to call home?

MotD is shite!
Sky, BT, Amazon, Bein, even Quest put the BBC to shame.
Any organisation that can employ Garth Crooks as an 'expert' deserves to go out of business!

I know it's controversial to say, but the BBC's insistence on creating an equal balance between female & male pundits also irks a little. The female commentator on MOTD is dreadful.

Yeah that’s why we love this club so much. There is something great about being so underrated.

MotD have praised us numerous times this season, particularly Shearer (who has also named our players in his PL Team of the Week most weeks). It's not too surprising for them to talk heavily about one of the 'big boys' of the league when we're up against them, especially when we didn't do a great deal of note in the game (that's not a slight against us, merely that we were up against one of the top sides of the past few years).

I wouldn't take it too personally.

I think the problem with the bbc is that it’s not strictly just sport. The Sky and BT pundits tend to have a lot more time to talk about each game.

For example, the Spurs v Middlesbrough cup game last week was an 8.05 kick off and the actual programme started at 8. If that’s on BT, the programme starts at half 7 at the very latest. I think it’s purely down to the fact that the BBC just don’t have the time to do in depth analysis on everything. It’s why the last game on MOTD is always rushed because they run out of time.

MOTD 2 tends to be slightly better as they have less games to show. The home game v Man U, the programme was basically dedicated to us so it’s swings and roundabouts.

Tbh it annoys me much more when someone just says a lazy throwaway comment about us rather than missing us out completely. In fact Id prefer them to miss us out than just say that.
