Last season we didnt have Wilder from the off, nor was the his team, although sone were left over from Wilders era but they were past it like Norwood and Fleck, even Egan was looking out of his depth because the team as a whole was.Remember what happened last time we went up??
National embarrassment
Memo to new owners: if we do get promoted, any manager with a small budget will not make us competitive in the premier league these daysHecky is a good coach but in my view not equipped on a small budget to make us competitive
"It's actually 2 or 3 generations in South Barnsley" - Kyle, grandfather (24).As embarrassing as last season was, imagine how much worse it would be if there was a generation of fans who hadn’t seen us in the prem…
I'd say there are an incredibly small number of managers who can still make a fist of it. It was easier in the past for sure than now with the millions of pounds that every team in the PL has even the likes of Brentford and Bournemouth but in Wilder I think we've got one of the few who could do it - like Brian Clough was in the top one! What I mean is the likes of Pep and Arteta, well they have the best players in the land, how would they do at Southampton I ask?!Memo to new owners: if we do get promoted, any manager with a small budget will not make us competitive in the premier league these days
It's been mentioned that maybe in order to establish ourselves in the top flight we need an early spell of being a yo yo club.
30 into 20 won't fit. Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford and Fulham are now nudging 'established' status. I think we are not a million miles away from a 36 strong block split into 2 tiers of 18. Unless the European superleague happens. As has been said by fans of Weeds, Norwich, Burnley and others.
Is there room for all these teams to become established PL members ?
Disagree, unlike McCabe the prince has generally hung on to players, at least until end of seasonThere's a long long way to go. Some people are getting waaaaaaay ahead of their selves.
If the sale of the club doesn't go through before January, I can see us selling players in January not buying them.
We're a third of the way through the season, and we've started brilliantly, let's see what the next month brings......
