I reckon the -2 points has done us a favour

Remember what happened last time we went up??
National embarrassment
Last season we didnt have Wilder from the off, nor was the his team, although sone were left over from Wilders era but they were past it like Norwood and Fleck, even Egan was looking out of his depth because the team as a whole was.

Hecky is a good coach but in my view not equipped on a small budget to make us competitive. When we went up under Hecky we sold our best two players and lost Doyle and the board gave him a tiny budget for PL standards and we gambled on Archer replacing Ndiaye and Souza replacing Doyle, both failed, but Souza next time out will be much better equipped to make a better impact next season.

We've also got Arblaster to come back in which and alongside Souza and Hamer that's a decent midfield next season if we do go up. With Wilder in charge I'm confident we'll be competitive at the very least.

It’s probably been used as a motivational factor by the team management.

It’s more of an annoyance now but I suppose you could say if they hadn’t felt a little injustice then perhaps they would not have been geed up in some matches? It’s so hard to say. But I’m sure Chris has used it as a positive.

It does annoy that the media wank over Leeds yet with the 2 back in there they look like they are dropping well behind given it would take them then 2 matches to catch us.

Like us all we just hope we can keep this form going. If we do then the 2 will just be a minor inconvenience. I hope it doesn’t cost us a spot.

Memo to new owners: if we do get promoted, any manager with a small budget will not make us competitive in the premier league these days
I'd say there are an incredibly small number of managers who can still make a fist of it. It was easier in the past for sure than now with the millions of pounds that every team in the PL has even the likes of Brentford and Bournemouth but in Wilder I think we've got one of the few who could do it - like Brian Clough was in the top one! What I mean is the likes of Pep and Arteta, well they have the best players in the land, how would they do at Southampton I ask?!

I'm one of those that has made it clear that in Wilder we have a manager totally unique and tailor made for the club. The players will run through a brick wall for him and that can go someway to bridging the gap and he demands everything from every player, I just love the football we play under Wilder! Last season we had a team just not equipped for the challenge but if we do go up I'm confident we'll get at least 30 points next season. You can hold me to that, if we go up which is a huge challenge first

It's been mentioned that maybe in order to establish ourselves in the top flight we need an early spell of being a yo yo club.

As has been said by fans of Weeds, Norwich, Burnley and others.

Is there room for all these teams to become established PL members ?

30 into 20 won't fit. Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford and Fulham are now nudging 'established' status. I think we are not a million miles away from a 36 strong block split into 2 tiers of 18. Unless the European superleague happens.

There's a long long way to go. Some people are getting waaaaaaay ahead of their selves.

If the sale of the club doesn't go through before January, I can see us selling players in January not buying them.

We're a third of the way through the season, and we've started brilliantly, let's see what the next month brings......
Disagree, unlike McCabe the prince has generally hung on to players, at least until end of season
