Michael Whitham. Joined from the Wendy in 1890 and played 123 times helping the club to its first ever promotion by a test match in 1892. Test matches were the early forerunners of play off games. That same year he got his only England cap as right back. Left in 1897 the year before out Invincible glory years commenced.
 

Uncle Neil, well he did say if ever he managed them, he'd sign a load of crap and play them until relegation was certain. And followed it up with, but Chris Turner had already beaten him to it 😭
 
Hassan Ayari (I’m scraping the barrel with this one). He played for our academy and went on trial with theirs.
