It's not really aimed at positives just on here. If everybody's negative on here they'll be negative at the game and every loose pass or heavy control will be grunted at. There'll be sections that boo certain players and the manager and quite frankly when you're stuck in a rut, as we are! the players are looking for support from us "fans." The players know if they've done a shit pass or had a shot when they should've laid it off, their team-mates will make sure they know. The fans should be supportive. Where's the atmosphere gone? Twice this season ONLY twice have i felt that the majority of fans were behind the team:

When Newcastle scored and we were singing loudly and proudly before we even re-started the game. & Cardiff, after he final whistle after all the boo boys were running to the car park with their shoes off, the supportive fans were applauding the team off because they had witnessed the team score one and have another ruled out for offside in stoppage time (which would've made it 4-4.)

But the boo boys with their clouded judgement would've missed our little "Fight till the end!"

But, as said in my first post here. Yes the manager makes mistakes. No i don't know why he played two let wingers and had two rights on the bench, BUT he's our manager, just like the players on the pitch are our players and we should get behind them. How many times did the fans win us games under Warnock? Loads. The carling cup season 2003. We wouldn't have beaten Liverpool & Sunderland & Leeds if it wasn't for the noise created by our fans

That's a strange thread to go back to.

You were complaining about people complaining after one defeat and now 8 games and 5 defeats later you want to bring it back up. Looks to me like there were a few people who could see what was coming and you were completely wrong.

People will be positive if what they have paid to see is positive.

Because the fans have taken a doom and gloam approach to the games rather than a supportive view!

It still reads like thread after thread after threaad of the same stuff and same comments, to the point where you think 'why bother?'

My thoughts exactly. It's getting to the point where i get myself worked up and think about not posting on here anymore because every time i log on its another pop are Blackwell or Quinn or How big the queue for the burgers were or why don't we sell chip butties any more.

But that is just nonesense. The players win and lose games and the fans have bugger all to do with it. I've never seen a fan score or prevent a goal yet.
Are you seriously telling me that Liverpool, who can go to Turkey and be abused by nutters, yet still get a result were overcome by some cheering at BDTBL?
Was Jags thunderbolt diverted past Robinson by some noise?

If your theory had any grounding in reality then why did we lose to Arsenal at OT when we were up for it and they couldn't give a shite? What the hell happened when we went to Villa Park in '74 and filled the huge away end only to see them stuff four past us?
Same as always, best team on the day usually wins regardless of what goes on in the stands.

It's all about morale. If everything you did at work was followed by a grunt from your boss or colleagues your morale would be low and you'd think about moving jobs.

But if every time you dropped a bollock your boss patted you on the back, said it's ok, everybody makes mistakes, heres what to do next time and get behind you. Then you would generally feel more upbeat about your surroundings and probably try harder as you get recognised and are appreciated for what you're doing.

First of all, I agree totally that the crowd can effect the game. I agree that a more supportive response to players' mistakes is of far more benefit to the players than a collective groan. I would love it if it were possible to draw a line under what has gone before and for the crowd's judgement not to be effected by negative pre-conceptions and even more if that approach could be adopted starting tomorrow.
None of that alters the perceptions of many that our manager, on balance, offers more negatives than positives and when you've failed to win in eight games on the trot, that's going to happen. And none of that will stop me from adopting a supportive approach to the lads on the pitch.
