...I absolutely love how we play. The system, the players, the organisation, the work ethic. If I could marry how we play, I would.

These last two games are hard to read. Fulham was a freak result and if we eradicate a few individual errors, we would have had at least a draw.

Tonight, we absolutely dominated. Credit to Birmingham for their resolute defending but we absolutely dominated. Save for a cracking goal from them. They aren't great though, and we could feel disappointed to have not won that. We should not change a thing about how we do, what we do. If Jota is worth £6.1m, what on earth are Duffy and Fleck worth?!? This side with Freeman, Baldock, Evans back will be continue to be strong.

And talking of injured players, I have to give a nod to Coutts. These two games just go to show how integral to us he is. He's arguably the biggest turn around of Wilder's reign so far. His contribution is subtle but he's flawless in possession; he barely puts a foot wrong, picks the simple but effective pass and reads the game incredibly well. We won't be able to replace his contribution. That's not intended as disrespect to others, rather a compliment to his huge importance. We have Lundstram and Carruthers to come in and both are quality, but they aren't Coutts, nor should they be expected to be. I think, if I'm being fair though, we now already notice that Coutts is the one that everyone else revolves around. They make a run, safe in the knowledge he will find them, or they take a chance safe in the knowledge they won't get caught out of position cos he'll retain possession. You could just see a few snippets tonight of those same players not making quite the same moves entirely, as they need time for Lundstram to grow into a similar role and develop a similar faith in him. He has potential, but I do think he gives the ball away the most.

All in all, I bloody love my Blades and the football we play is sexy.

UTB!

I agree. We could have started this season being cautious and going out primarily not to lose. Instead, we've gone for it and it's been brilliant. We've been beaten a few times, but by God we've made teams work for it. Some of the football we've played puts richer (and supposedly) better teams to shame.

Great comments Kozzy. I think Lundstram did well tonight. This may be blasphemous but I actually think we miss Baldock/Freeman as much as Coutts. Their marauding down the right lets Basham play central and add another dimension to our attacking centre halves.
