I was just about to write the exact same, how fucking weird! I was watching this goal from a year ago today:



Look how good we were, look how good we looked.

It's no surprise, we're now wank because we look wank, in white and red, or bloody pink.

It took for McGoldrick to try & break through the lines & for an early delivery to make that goal happen. Up to that point the buildup play wasn't much difference to that sequence of play we had at the end of the first half against Chelsea - except that the players actually looked comfortable on the ball.

We really need players in the side that are willing to carry the ball into dangerous areas. The only joy we've had from open play in an attacking sense this season has been when Berge has made a driving run. Looking forward to getting Fleck & Mousset back & I'd really like to see Burke & Bogle in the side to help break the lines.

I'd 100% agree with that. Players returning to/joining the side will have a point to prove, a hunger, an importantly, less fear.

Still, not a realistic option now. But dusting off last year's shouldn't be a problem for anyone surely? Apart from Adidas' nose being put slightly out of joint, but most who would buy the shirt have done so already so can't imagine there'd be a hit in commercial income.

There'll be plenty of us who have similar thoughts start of each season. When DCL popped up online in the kit we got promoted from L1 in I said to my colleagues "THAT is a promotion winning shirt". Didn't have as strong positive vibes about a strip until start of last season which I think just looked so professional. And we didn't do so badly now in it did we?
