Just been turned away from buying Huddersfield tickets because my "friend" isn't a member or STH - but both of us have over 9,000 loyalty points. Is this right, do we have to wait until general sale?

Mic: yep you're right I didn't think he'd have over 9,000 either.

Sick and tired of saying it - you're either in or you're out.

P.S - I understand your "friend" emailed the ticket office to ask how many points he had and was given a figure of around 11,000. It would have been good of them to mention at the same time they were now worthless.

You need to be a Member, £15 is the cost, this will switch your loyalty points back on.

This situation may or may not change in the next five minutes, and at any other point in time that suits McCabe

Whats the issue?

It was all publicised at the start of the season wasn't it?

No cheap tickets, no flex deals, Members and ST holders get the benefits.

I thought that the issue about membership cards and away tickets was rescinded, plus there is no mention of membership cards being needed on the categories (unless I've missed it)

If yer know the reight people yer in ................. if not yer not

Not sure whether it was ommitted when you checked but it definitely states members + Loyalty points

No cheap tickets or package offers this season? Maybe I've been getting special treatment for my past services.

Instead of making silly threats in April in trying to sell STs they should actually come up with an enticing offer to stop the rot of the support and get ST sales back up. Surely if the club didn't realise before they know now that league position doesn't put thousands on your average gate these days, only STs do.

To be fair fella, league position makes all the difference. It's just that it makes the difference to season ticket sales, not pay on the day support. I'm all for fancy offers and clever marketing, but no amount of marketing would have stopped our support from halving over the last few years. League position is everything.

And if you are not a season ticket holder and go to at least 8 home league games a season, why wouldn't you get a membership card as you will actually save money?

Never mind,eh...any excuse for some fans to have a go at the club and./or McCabe

Season Ticket prices were reasonably priced as far as I could see compared with many in the division. What would you have done differently that would have generated more money ?

It would have been good of them to mention at the same time they were now worthless.

But they are not if you are a memeber and regularly go to home games.

I can't really see why this is an issue

It's an issue if you regularly support united at away games, but can't get to that many home games.

It's a £15 issue, to give it context. I dont like the idea of charging for the priviledge of buying tickets, but if people are that bothered then they should go out 2 hours later one weekend and save the difference.....:)

Simple choice....don't be a member and wait for general sale,or pay £15 and keep your points. I know it sounds harsh but the club has to draw a line somewhere.

What utter bollocks. The club didn't have to introduce this membership fee at all.

It isn't really. Thought I was eligible yesterday, found out I'm not, so was going to wait until I was and if they were gone, they were gone. It would have saved a call if someone could have said "you have x points, but as you are not currently a member you'll have to wait until general sale" on the reply but again, nothing to get bent out of shape about. However, for every Colonel Blimp frothing self-righteously about my inability to remember something from last June which has had zero impact until now, there is someone else pm-ing offers of help. Ying and Yang remain synchronised.

Pah!! - you lot dont realise the amount of work McCabe has done to get us where we are .........

And with his sons also onboard, we should soon have a Table Topping Team

They did though

I wasn`t aware they had to do anything, care to enlighten me / us ?

The Blades Membership system has been around for years, usually £10 per season, and it lifted you above the Public in terms of Ticket Rights.

This Season it was lifted to £15 and made a stipulation that you had to be a Member in order to purchase Away Tickets.

I wasn`t aware this was forced on the Club, be nice to hear why it was.

Especially as at least once this Season, this requirement to be a Member before purchasing an Away Ticket, has been waived.

I thought that the issue about membership cards and away tickets was rescinded, plus there is no mention of membership cards being needed on the categories (unless I've missed it)

The original wording from the ticket office implied that you would need a membership card to buy any away ticket, general sale or no general sale.

This was clarified to be tickets going on sale to:

- Loyalty point holders with Membership Cards
- General Sale to every man and his dog
