Fourth best defence in the Prem - only Liverpool, Man U and Leicester have conceded fewer goals than us.

And whilst we have scored the fewest of all teams in the top half of the table, only 1 team in the bottom half has scored more than us (Norwich).

"This season's whipping boys" my arse

what's even more galling is that of all the goals we' ve conceded most of them (except one) werre errors where we gave the ball away unnecessarily - the only real goal was the wonder strike from Barnes - Think it might change next week mind !

Well, you could say Liverpool are "due a defeat" since they haven't lost in the league since January 3rd...

If we beat Liverpool then I will have to say we can go on and comfortable make mid table.
But the thought of Mane and Salah’s pace running at us, and Firminho’s cleverness is a worry.
Best we can hope is that one or more has an injury or need a rest so Klopp tinkers with his team.
Though I doubt Klopp will do that, he’s not daft or arrogant enough to think anything other than his best players will be needed to see us off without a huge fight.

I’m hoping Moose will get a start with McBurnie...I believe their physicality and Moose pace will be needed to worry quite possible the most complete defender in the world.

If we cut out the stupid mistakes and VAR was 100% accurate.

1-1 bournemouth
1-0 win palace
1-0 win Leicester (1 mistake, soyuncu foul on Egan)
0-2 win Chelsea (2 mistakes)
1-0 win* Southampton (1 mistake, potential goal for Ward-Prowse handball)
0-2 win Everton

16 points and top of the league 😁

We're all Blades here but Robinson was definitely impeding Pickford for our first goal v Everton

I said in another thread, we're more than capable of limitong Liverpool to 3 or 4 chances.

But with those 3 up front, that means it could easily be 3 or 4 goals.

Gonna be a tough one. Hendo has to pull out all the stops here.

We haven't had a penalty yet, so maybe a VAR decision could go our way on Saturday with a nice accompanying red card.

A better trio does not exist in world football at the moment. But their fullbacks are also key to how they play and help to create a lot of their goals. If we default to our attacking game, we pin them back out wide. I actually fancy our chances much better that way, rather than trying to contain them.

This is the biggest test we have faced in decades, but you can guarantee that Liverpool will be thinking long and hard about our system and how to combat it too. Klopp is a smart guy, and he will recognise similar qualities in Wilder & Knill.

Of course, in the event that we do get something from this, the standard excuses that have already been trotted out by Palace, Chelsea [2nd half] and Everton will come into use. 'Worst we have played in years', "We were shocking" , "Suppose we just had an off day" etc etc etc

He didn’t really move though, he was just stood there, plus ignoring that the game may not have panned out the way it did we still would have won 1-0 😁
