We all find it difficult to admit being wrong, me as much as anyone else. In today's Star (basically a Blades love-in), Matthew Bell does it with class. Having gently made fun of fans' tweets from early in the season, he concludes with a sentence of his own following the first game of the season at Bolton: 'United were slightly the better of 2 unimpressive teams, but I didn't see anything that indicated that either side will be in the top 2 at the end.' I like it.

Bells got class, I used to read his article in the Green Un before anything else. The Star made a big error making that internet based, I've never read it once and with both Sheffield teams on the up, I think sales would be decent now.

Bring back the Green Un,i miss reading about the Crown Green bowls leagues, the fishing, local leagues,as well as all the football.

I have seen grown men grappling back in the day at our local newsagents over the last few Green Uns,a very sad day when it ceased production IMO

It did have something for all local popular sports. A great Satdi night read for thousands. After United, the fishing section was a mine of information giving results of the previous weeks matches, sadly never got a mention, along with forecasts for long forgotten venues, now I should think, hardly ever fished.

He's a great bloke and 100% dedicated Blade (and no, it is not me). I presume he must spend some time on here.

I knew him from Nottingham Uni and he went to far more United games than I ever did. He soldiered on With Flashing Blade for years, and has forgotten more about the Blades than I ever knew.

Same here and I didn't even know it was online. There's no wonder the Star has gone down the pan, when they can't even publicise the few decent things that they have got left.

I used to like the 25 years today and 10 years today. Which, when I was a kid and used to wait for it after the match was roughly early seventies and late fifties.

I also enjoyed reading "The Flashing Blade" and "In Off The Post".
Yeah, loved FB. My claim to fame was I was in the comments from the kop bit, where people would 'post' funny comments they'd heard during games. Somebody near me once shouted 'fucking hell Bees, tha must be on drugs' and I shouted back 'well, it's not speed'.

All the stuff you mentioned is now in Friday's Star

It isn't online as such, although everything we do goes on the website - match reports, Matt's column, Gagey's column etc

I was wrong BIG style at the start of the season. I said that pound for pound (£ for £), McNulty was a better option than Sharp given that we were reducing the budget etc. I said Billy was an expensive luxury and McNulty was more than capable in that position, we should cash in on Sharp and use the money to strengthen the squad.

How fucking wrong was I?

But glad to be so if truth be told:)
