Announce that he will be resigning from all involvement with the club in 6 months' time and that he will write off all the money owing to him and sell the club (and the ground) to a responsible owner for £1. Say that in that 6 months he will consider in detail all bids for the club and sell it only to someone who he believes has the club's best interest at heart.

Admittedly, that would lead to KM writing off - what - £20m, but that's around 10% of his wealth, but it would have the advantage to him of stopping the drain to him in financing the club and the club would get a new start and debt free for the first time in living memory. We could then go ahead and build a sustainable club.

I appreciate its a big ask asking even a wealthy man to effectively give away £20m, but his crap decisions got us in this mess and, to be frank, £20M might be thought a price worth paying to ensure he is respected by United fans in ages to come rather than vilified.

we dont have a great history (and were not alone) in finding a 'responsible owner' that is a major problem.

our only chance really is to become a money laundering outfit like 90 % of the premiership.

There's more chance of successfully nailing a sherry trifle to a rampaging hippo.

I appreciate that. Maybe it needs some intelligent grassroots campainging (not of the "shoes off" type).

to be honest, as much as he is despised, all he really needs to do is employ a proper manager and let him sign some decent players. not that hard surely??

That would be great but if he was at all considering this, is he not more likely to write off debts but keep the real estate ie the stadium and Shirecliffe.

You wou;dn't have thought so. Even under the fair play rules,we can pay wages 4 times the level that Yeovil can afford. Hence we should be able to sign much better players. Didn't work out that way.

Nice idea but I doubt that you'd want to write off 10% of your wealth so why should McCabe? They tried it in Cyprus and people weren't happy there either.

Plus, given our history, what's to say that we'll get someone better? I'm not saying stick with the devil you know, but McCabe will probably get blamed if the next guy doesn't work out.

So... It comes down to a fans buy out. As you seem to be happy for McCabe to write off 10% of his wealth perhaps you could start the kitty by putting in the 10% of yours Darren.

I don't have the answer but I don't think this is it either.

But he's got a record at picking managers as good as mine is at driving a F1 car.

Trouble is in six months time he will have employed another numpty as manager who will have build an even worse squad. Needs to be by the end of this week for it to work.

If I had £200 million I would happily write off 10% of my wealth to help United, as I don't, I'm not.

No-one can, of course, force KM to do anything of the sort, and if he wants to keep£20m and be hated forever by United fans, that's up to him. I am merely putting another option for him.

The problem is finding an investor that will take us forward.

And as we arnt anywere near London.

Thats not going to happen anytime soon.

I really think admin is the only way for a new owner to come forward.

Chairman Darren eh?

Would it be like a hedonistic version of North Korea?

So you wouldn't be willing to put 10% of your current worth into United?

It's very easy for you to say that he should chuck away 10% of it all but Bearing in mind that a lot of McCabes wealth is probably tied up in businesses and property and he's dropped his worth from 600milllion in 07-08 ( I think) then it's a fair amount to chuck away.

I've said it before, but until fans start putting serious bids together then why is McCabe going to give it all up.

we dont need an investor.

if we cant sustain a decent squad in a division where we have the biggest (or one of) gates then were doing something very wrong!

McCabe would possibly be quite happy to sell United, but I can't see him letting go of BDTBL and the Academy they are his get out of jail cards when it all folds.

Well, I don't know how his wealth is contituted. If dropping £20m would cause him serious hardship, then maybe he should tell us that. I rather doubt it would, bearing in mind that he doesn't have the £20M now and he doesn't appear to be sleeping on a park bench as far as I am aware.

I have been one of KM's staunchest defenders against ignorant criticism of the type that he is only out to make money from United. I believe he is a genuine fan. If that is the case, I am merely suggest he act like a fan and make a financial sacrifice I have little doubt he can afford.

20% of a man of the street's wealth would probably leave shim on the street. 20% of McCabe's wealth probably means - absolutely fuck all other than the paper it's written on. The man on the street also isn't responsible for fucking us up. The comparison isn't valid.

Not that I expect that. I expected for him to hold on to our striker at Christmas when it was clear we couldn't score. You didn't even expect that of him....o_O
