How many goals will Ched Evans score next season?

He's never got anywhere near that in the limited experience he's had in that league, just scored 7 in the league below and had one outstanding season 5 years ago would be my betting for thinking he won't be one of the Championships top goal scorers next season.

Would you rule him out of being our top scorer Pete ?

Now now Davalon , that's hardly fair . I don't think he'll win the championships Golden Boot next year and I very much doubt anyone on here does either .

Throw another one back at us . How about him being our top scorer ?

I understand your concerns btw and it's pretty difficult to say theres a lack of evidence in all that you say . I just have a feeling that Wilder will see him firing on all cylinders next season . And no one can doubt that he has talent .

If he'd scored the 24 goals that 12 people think he'll get, he'd be the 2nd highest scorer in this season's championship.

I obviously hope you're right but if he's scoring 20 plus then he's troubling the golden boot.

As for our top scorer that's neither here nor there as 7 or 8 could win that for all we know.

My head shaking is purely at those who still seem to think he'll just carry on where he left off in March 2012. Common sense suggests that's far more unlikely than likely. However the few obsessive Chedites seem to get upset if anyone thinks it's unlikely.

It's the Wilder factor that I think you are in danger of underestimating in all of this . If it was any other manager that we have had in the last 20 years currently at the helm I'd agree with your summary of the situation in its entirety . There's just something that Wilder has however that makes me very optimistic .

Got a feeling he'll play in a few League Cup matches then disappear, occasionally getting on the bench when Laverys not fit and then get loaned out to a League 2 team in January.

All depends on whether he manages to keep his dick in his fiancé or decides a midnight visit to a paraletic lass his mates invite him round to fuck in a hotel is a good idea. So im going for either 5 or 3.

You voted non didn't you?

He'll score when he wants, he 'll score when he wants, that Ched Evans he'll score....oh? Score? Thought you said shag!

if everyone refuses to reply to threads like this, they'll just drop down the list and go away.

Stop giving threads like this the oxygen they crave.

I seriously cannot believe that a third of people are expecting him to get 15+. 10% think he'll score more than all but one player managed last season.

I'm not a pessimist but there is no evidence that's possible. I just hope you all don't jump on his back with the fanaticism that has lorded him for five long, boring years.

It's hardly likely is it?

I would imagine two and a half years inside for being a twat, is more than enough to teach him a lesson, so can we stop these jibes now?

Depends if he's played at fullback?

Has Wilder just been replaced by Blackwell?

It may be questionable whether or not his fiance Natasha should have forgiven him, but she will know that Ched will never play away again in his entire life, one sniff of a 'forced entry' would be to put him in prison forever, or get him castrated.

Approximately 53. He will then sign for Chelsea the following year as he is an obvious Premier league player in the waiting.

He will then sign for Barcelona and replace Messi the year after.

He will then leave Natasha and shack up with Holly Willoughby. He will then change his name to 'Good Evans' by deed poll.

Following this at the age of 39 he will win the World Cup with Wales and Ryan Giggs (Cheds relationship guru) will be manager.

A fit Ched will bag 20 goals.
A fit Billy alongside him, another 20.
10-15 for Leon and Hanson

I hope you are correct. But even if he's as fit as he can possibly be, I find it hard to see how someone who's barely kicked a ball in 5 years is suddenly going to bang in 20 goals, particularly in a division he struggled in before

He's a quality player and has had a season, albeit one littered with injury to get back up to match fitness.

A full preseason with the Wilder team and he'll be as fit as he was five years ago, if not fitter.

As for Championship level, he was playing in sides at United which wanted him to play with his back to goal or chase lost causes and yes, there will be elements of this in the Championship. but alongside Billy, Hanson or Leon, it gives him the option to play facing the goal. In addition, like Billy, he's a much stronger and physical player than he was a few years ago.

Wilder is also a very savvy manager, able to work with players, take Leon for example, almost a season of poor form and injury and he's had the confidence and patience with him to bring him back and play him for the final few games and he's repaid that faith

The final, most important point is the style of play (touched upon above), we play in a very creative manner. I personally think that as a finisher, Ched is as good, potentially better than Billy. Billy has additional attributes such as his tenacity, but as a natural finisher, Ched perhaps edges it.

When you take out all of the moral and off the pitch issues, Ched is a very good footballer. He proved many fans wrong when he scored a lot of goals in league one when he was played in the right way. Whether Ched achieves 20 goals will be down to him, we have to recruit a few more championship level creative players, but i think alongside Billy and if we can defend better, we don't need to adjust the style of play to fit Ched in. Ched slots straight in.

Its down to him (and staying injury free)

Not doing Billy a disservice but I think Cheds a much better finisher, although Billys scored shed loads this season hes missed some fucking sitters

I'd agree but Ched is a long way behind Billy in the 'fox in the box' stakes.

Take Billy's first at Franchise FC. He was already on the shoulder of the defender anticipating an error and made his move and gambled. So many of his goals are instinctive and follow a quick turn or drop of the shoulder. You can't teach that.

But I think Cheds better at making something for himself out of nothing and hes also bound to get a couple of those rocket freekicks in. My concern with Billy is that he misses maybe 3 out of 4 and I dont think well get so many chances next season. Dont get me wrong hes done great this season but I think if Cheds fit hes more likely to cut it in the Championship
