Just wondered having watched the Blades for 35 years and hardly missed a home match. I now only miss them when on Holiday......missing the Coventry match at home! Greek Beach is calling!

How many do you miss and what feeble excuse do you have?

I used to miss a few home matches through a very unsympathetic employer.

Since I left in January, the only home match I missed was the Crewe match last season when I was laid in bed feeling crap. It takes a lot for me to be too ill to go to football.

Not missed a match so far this season but I can envisage work getting in the way of a few away matches, although hopefully not home ones or else I'll have to kick up a fuss.

Found this way down the bottom of the pile, thought i'd revive it!!

I only miss home games now if i'm on holiday or have work commitments. Missed Wed & Ipswich this season.

Away - I pick and choose my games now based on distance, whether its Saturday or mid-week. andwhether i've been before. Peterborough for example, i've never been and will therefore still go even though its a mid-week game.

Same old story. No home matches, as few away matches as possible.

Decided not to go to Palace and save the cash for my holiday. Haven't got the days off to be able to go to Cardiff. Work commitments mean Peterborough is looking bleak.

I've missed more games this season than all I've missed since I started watching United. The thought of missing a home game prior to this season was alien, I'd miss family gatherings, piss girlfriends off and arrange holidays around United games.
Sadly, I just can't get excited anymore. The feeling of when United score has gone from a buzz to a more of a "meh".
I really, really hope that someday soon that changes.

I miss them lots and lots but I was spoilt from 2001-2007 missing the odd away game but never missing a home game. I've got other priorities now-well one main one which is my uni course and career. We just cannot afford the travel from Worcester as well as the match tickets but if we could I wouldn't want to go to every game like before with the travelling involved.

I miss it but other things are more important than football and always will be.

Same Ipswichblade, I'm at Durham Uni and used to travel to Sheffield home every weekend and Tuesday night for matches on the train. Wednesday mornings with a 9-11 seminar in macroeconomics were abit rough to say the least after a night match! Particularly last season when we lost 3-1 to Wolves, that ended in a nice letter stating the university would not accept students in an 'unfit state' attending classes!

Missing one tomorrow. Edinburgh is calling. GGTTH.

Have missed 2 in 6 years after I'd arranged my holiday for a free week, for two games to be moved to that week. Odds on that?

I'm starting to think twice about it at the moment though, will probably start picking my away games if Blackwell's still here next year. The day's out are usually good, but I'm fed up of spending endless amounts of money to watch shit. I was going to miss Palace next week, but I can't bring myself to do it.

I usually miss a miss the odd game at home per season, and usually get to about half the away games.

It's usually down to a mixture of work commitments, or holiday commitments.

Last season i missed Bristol City at home due to being in the Dominican Republic as i was getting married out there, and spend an extortionate amount on 2 hours of internet usage with LS26 Blade and kept up to speed with stuff on Blades Chat.

This season i have missed Ipswich and Reading due to being at work

I miss more now we have small children, however before they came along didnt miss many at home or away.

:D
Haha! It doesn't bother me missing games - it makes me appreciate the day out more when we do go.

I must've gone years and years without missing a home game at one time. Now I miss the occasional cup game. Can only think of 1 home league game I've missed in the last 15 years or so off the top of my head - must be more than that, I'll have to have a look.

Away game attendance has dropped from around half the games to a quarter or less.

02/03 was the season I saw most games, sure that's the same for many, I think I saw 51 games that season.

This season I've not missed a single home match. If I keep it up it will be the first time since Spackman that I've gone through the season not missing a game.

My excuses are usually family based, work, or holidays.

Next week i have a toss-up between going to Palace, or going to see my two week old niece.

I'm going to see my niece.

Don't go at all really. Went to Watford at home match this season courtesy of a company box. First time in years. My excuse is the distance, but on saying that I didn't go to Peterborough match and it's only 30 min's away. I'm 60 next year so I've done my apprenticeship on the kop in the 60's and early 70's. :)
Stopped going regular when I got married. :(

Had a season ticket for the past 30 years or so. Miss the odd home game through holidays but i honestly cant remember the last time i missed a home game through choice (ie being in Sheffield but not bothering to go) probably in the early\mid 70s as a skint school lad.

Only get to about a third to half of the away games though these days.

missing them all so far, but planning to come one day.
My excuse is that I only recently started following the club and it ain't that easy to attend from Estonia.
Forum, shoutbox and the occasional goals highlight or tv/radio-stream are my only sources at the moment.

I miss more than i used to but a lot of that is down to having a young family.
I live in Norwich but i've never let that stop me following the Blades all over. Up until two seasons ago i held a season ticket for 4 years and before that i never missed many home and away.

Nice to know we're attracting fans from all over Europe. :)
I hope we do your support justice m8.

I have now missed more games in the last 6yrs than i have in a lifetime of following the Blades main reasons ill health Heart attack ,Bowel Cancer , loss of Sight in R/EYE at one stage of my life I missed 10 games in just over 30+ yrs mostly break downs traveling ,plus giving her Majesty some service also lock ups traveling Northampton away anybody on that coach and that included pre season tours Holland Scotland etc i took my first game in in 1952 at BDTBL and still a season ticket holder now liveing in the W/Midlands and takeing in most games i can present health permiting a lot of you older Blades will know who iam but " WERE ALL BLADES AREN'T WE ":drunk::header::drunk::thumbup:

Missed over half the games last season due to living in Bristol and not being able to afford train fare + tickets week in, week out.

Moved back north and miss only half the away games now for the simple reason that I don't have bottomless pockets. Football is too expensive for me now and I do well to get to as many as I do!

I've missed 3 games this season (despite having a season ticket). I've had a lot of shit to put up with (outside of football/work) since September. That aside, I just woke up a few times and thought to myself that I'd rather have a relaxing day at home with the family or go to a restaurant or the cinema rather than endure another of Blackwell's 90 minutes of dour, infuriating football.

So I did something else instead of going to the match. I've never done that in any season apart from this one (I'd always still attend if I had the worst hangover in the world, or was down with a bug). Going to football has turned into a chore this season instead of a form of entertainment.

Having an excuse to have a few beers during the day is quite nice, but for the first time in a long time I'm not renewing next year, whether we're in the Championship or Premier League (stop laughing at the back) I'll just pick and chose games instead of buying a ticket for the entire season.

since starting to go with the mates at about 12 never missed a home match except for the odd sking trip and my honeymoon, oh and 6month period where a piece of paper said i couldnt attend:)allso for many years travelled the country with the beighton lads ,then shread.happy days !
ps im 48.

I used to go to as many as possible, however I think this season I have been to about 6or 7, waste of money having a season ticket, won't be renewing.

My excuse is..... can't be bothered lol.
