Call for tickets

United supporters wanting to secure tickets for the Blades v Fulham fixture can now access tickets via a brand new telephone system.

The club has unveiled a brand new telephone service to offer supporters a quicker and more efficient way to buy match tickets.

And the first tickets to be available via the new system are those for next Tuesday's evening game (30 January, ko 7.45pm) against the London side at Bramall Lane.

With season ticket holders totaling 22,000 and average crowds of more than 30,000 now watching Premiership football at Bramall Lane the club has invested in new technology with Computer Software Group which allows fans to purchase tickets using a touch tone phone.

In a bid to further reduce ticket office queues, United has signed up to TALENT Sport's Automated Telephone Sales (ATS) facility, due to go live today (Thursday), with the aim of further reducing ticket office queues.

The new facility, will allow routine ticket sales calls to be processed automatically, helping the club to reduce queues and free up ticket office staff to deal with customer queries.

After registering for the service supporters will have the option of choosing the automated service to make their purchase when they call the box office, with instant information and ticket availability details on the way.

ATS will sell in real time, so availability is instantly checked and confirmed for customers.

Mark Fenoughty, United's chief operating officer explained: "We have been looking at a number of ways to help reduce customer waiting time and make buying a match ticket over the phone a more efficient and smoother process.

"With the new system we will be able to channel routine ticket sales calls through the automated route, giving our staff more time to help customers with specific queries which should enable us to cut down queuing times substantially.

"This system is suitable for football clubs because we often face very uneven and unpredictable workloads when high profile games go on sale. This system should alleviate some of the pressures of the busy periods and represents a choice for customers. Ticket office staff will still be available to serve those who have yet to register, don't have a touch tone phone or prefer to deal with someone in person.

"We can also order more phone lines, for however long we need them, in an instant."

Fulham tickets start at £24 for adults and £16 for juniors. The game has also been designated a season ticket holders bring a friend fixture with tickets for the offer costing £15 for adults or juniors.

Please call the ticket office on 0870 787 1799 or email [email protected] to register for the service.
