We struggled to create with Hamer in the team last season.

I see all that as the precursor to building back the confidence.
First target is to get some consistency and move away from the bottom.
Second is to reach a point where we are looking up and not down.
Third is to be in a race to chase down the pack.
Those three need confidence, consistency and the scoring of multiple goals a game.
Yes, it comes to your point of creating chances but they comes from instilling a shape and confidence for the better players to do their stuff

Now we are getting better and not rolling over like we were under the previous, I can see us flirting with the play offs if we improve in Jan and get some of the injured players back.

Yeah, it worked for Burnley last year, although they did seem to take the handbrake off a bit after Christmas.

From what I remember, most of the attacking stats last season had us as the 5th or 6th best team in the Championship. We made up for it in other ways--good defence, great team spirit, etc. But for the team with the 3rd biggest budget it was a bit disappointing. I think it comes down to Wilder's preferred style of play.

Obviously the squad is weaker this season but I think we have the players to do a bit more in attack than we are. I'm not complaining too much as long as we're getting the right results and climbing out of danger, though.

Both of the last two games we played 'adequately' in the first half, then stepped up a gear or two in the second half.

Maybe this is the new plan D (Wilder has no plan B apparently).

Last season we used to start all guns blazing, take the lead, then 'sit back'.

'Fans' want a full 90 minutes of non stop attacking though, wether we loose or loose.
Maybe if we had a squad full of Illiman's we could play that way - we don't.

We didn't get to 92 points by being particularly creative. We did loads of other things really well, and when our chances came we took them, but we were not an exceptional attacking team by any stretch of the imagination. Especially after Christmas.

But some teams did create more than us over 46 games last season, including some with smaller budgets and worse players.

I say weve been poor when we are but I dont spend days on end apportioning blame,
we are not blessed with billionaire owners that could buy the quality of players some insist we need

the 2 clubs that did finish above us spent considerably more than we did and paid higher wages, Wilder has o work with what he gets

im not blaming individuals , just the supporters who start the criticism when we fall behind taking it as read that we will lose

shows a lack of faith , and respect for the lads in the shirts on the pitch, Ive seen utd fall behind in hundreds of matches

Mid level championship budget clubs don’t spent 10M on shite like Cannon. We’ve cut our cloth accordingly. Last season we were one of few getting parachute payments at a decent level.

We also spent over £100M the last time we were in the premier league, equally on mostly dross. Why?
