How long do we give Wilder?

Yeah I get that worry and I agree to some degree and its no good for health of us blades fans watching, but ill take it in our current situation.

I also dont think we will see a massive improvement regarding attacking for a while, we was similar last season, albeit more clinical, we should see an improvement into new year once wilder puts his stamp on the squad in January, but dont think it be massive amounts.

I do believe we would have seen a difference this season if we hadnt have sacked him for Spanish supply PE teacher.

I agree, we just need to get results and move away from relegation, when you’re at the bottom you just need to get points.

I just don’t think Wilder is capable of setting up a team that will dominate matches, he proved that last season with a very good squad.

I hope I’m wrong but I just feel Wilder isn’t going to recreate the magic of his first spell. I can only see mediocrity, boring football and average results from Wilder 3.0.

I mean he did set us up with attacking free flowing beautiful football in wilder 1.0 until it came crashing in st the end and that actually coincides with where we started to struggle recreating chances under him

Really hope he can rediscover some that those patterns of play. As its best football ive seen united play at times & consistently.

I do agree with you though, that i dont think it will come again.

Domination isn't a typical thing in the championship really. A handful of sides manage it but for many it's a slog

You don’t think it’s possible to dominate relegation teams? I ain’t expecting it week in week out, but we should be capable of it against poor teams. We just seem to allow teams to always be in the game and in with a chance of a result against us.

We scored 3. With goals being an absolute rarity for us this year. As soon as we got level I didn't particularly fear losing

90 points no matter how they come is something most clubs would love!

They won't if tonight's evidence is anything to go by. The o/p couldn't wait until the end of the game to get his dig in. As soon as we went 1-0 down he decided that was it.
To be fair, it looked like it.

Good subs changed the game. Blackburn were poor but we have been too.

I stand by the things I have said. But hopefully tonight is a catalyst. Let’s hopefully build on that

Positively, we won 3-1, and some of the play indicated that the players were on nodding terms with each other! Watched on telly and I thought it was the best we'd played this season.
Negatively, Blackburn were crap, and the defence looks wobbly.
I'm not Wilder's biggest fan, but have to give credit where it's due.
Onwards and upwards, as they say.

I found this sort of comment so frustrating, why is Chris so untouchable to so many blades and can’t possibly be in the wrong? Selles was poor and had to go as agreed by all fans, these performances are the same if not worse than under Selles so why can’t the possibility of replacing Wilder be mentioned?
Because he gets results.
The confidence has been on the floor. That’s not something you switch back on like a tap. It needs building.
COH and SeLLLLLLLes butchered the squad and their confidence.
We were shite in the first half with 10 men. Better after 60 mins when that balance changed.

We were never going to replace Souza, he was a step above the championship we have matos and soumare who are similar players who can perform that role.

We didn’t replace Moore granted but does not highlight wilder being tactically inept and showing he can only play one way with no other ideas?
Soumare has the ability to be better than Souza IMO

Yes the signs are we won't be in the bottom 3 but the facts are we are only just "safe" and until there's breathing room its a relegation battle.
Yes at the moment we are 4th bottom but with 35 games left and nothing remotely close to being decided it’s not exactly a relegation battle yet is it, just a bad start that we are trying to put right.

Reckon Selles would have turned that one around?

Selles. No points.
Wilder. Same number of games. 9 points.
Selles. Two goals. One being an absolute worldie in the league cup.
Wilder. Six goals.
Selles. 14 goals conceded.
Wilder. 5 goals conceded in the same number of games.
Wilder is our manager. Like it or not. And so far is doing a lot better than the last bloke.

Need shut asap imo, though personally I'd give him till June next year.
If things haven't improved by then we should get rid before this January and let the new manager bring in players to shit his style.

Like Binman and Lightweight Louie shitting his style kind of thing ?
That what you mean?

It would have us on 69 points over a season so not quite. Minus the five games under Selles and 1.5 points per game will see us mid-table. Still fantastic compared to where we were after Ipswich.
Coventry got in playoffs with 69 last season Bristol City with 68, that was probably an outlier as its usually 75 minimum but it can be done in a poor league where everyone beats everyone

This aged well

Actually, it has. Up to the point Ings and Cannon went off we were terrible.

We were gifted back into the game with some of the most inept defending from a corner you could ever see by a professional team. Up to that moment it had looked like we were probably going to concede a 2nd.

After our equaliser Blackburn fell to pieces and some confidence did at least return to our own play, not least the 2nd goal, but the game was still in the balance till injury time.

Anyone thinking the tide has somehow turned already is jumping the gun. We still look like a bog-standard Championship side with little invention and a defence that could go AWOL at any moment.

A welcome result, on its own, doesn't mean there are no issues. The general standard of our play is still rotten.

Point taken but we're still 4th bottom, 1 point above the relegation places and Blackburn have a game in hand. I assure you that's still currently a relegation battle.

Cant agree. We still have 35 or so games to play this season, ans by the last match as far as the Championship relegation places are concerned, we will be over the hills and far away. Probably pushing for top 10 would be my pitch. There is no way on earth that we go down under CW, so start to relax a bit as i can only see us going one way now and fairly quickly too now that hes getting a team playing together again and confidence is coming back. Yes, there will be bumps on the way as usual, but they will only be brief and sparodic. So sleep tight angel face, the Wilder's on the case.
