How do we protest against the current regime?

We're Sheffield fucking United and the fans are HOPING not even expecting to 'scrape' into sixth fucking place in league fucking one.

We'd be playing Bradford Park Avenue before some decided the board perhaps didn't know what they were doing.

All the club can do is keep this run going and try to get to the playoffs.

I'm quite relaxed because if we fail we are only 15 weeks away from telling 15 to 20 of the players to piss off if they can't hack it.

Then at long last, we can start a proper rebuild. With the wages that will be freed up surely we can build a young, competitive squad for this division.

I want to see what happens on Monday night. If the board and Adkins can't address bringing in some quality then we are in the shit. I would then even doubt what we could spend after getting rid of 15 players in the same. and please don't give me ffp.
Like I said if you're willing to spend money you spend it, don't make excuses. They're not interested.

Don't hold your breath. There's plenty of wages there to cover a good number of premier league and championship rejects in the way down. And Collins will probably get a new contract.

Danny, there's no point in getting het up. We're all pissed off it might fail again but they cannot follow that strategy again.

We're only 15 weeks away from major decisions even if we can't ship the failures out until the end of June.

Let their tyres down but even that is difficult to do because the owners of our club are never there.

Wouldn't be that easy to sneak into the private jet terminal of the airport or that's not a bad idea.

My sarcastic posting aside, I think that there has to be a role to play as supporters. Otherwise we are just spectators to the whole mess, grumbling on the sidelines.

The fans are the last real custodians of any club.

Curtis Woodhouse has just summed it up on Twitter for me:

Whitehouse Bradshaw Ward, I'd have them 3 back at United in a shot, they guided us as young pups, showed us what it meant to be a blade #UTB
Pride in the shirt, running through brick walls for the badge, for Mary and sue in the laundry, for the fans, for Sheffield United, its gone
You ask anybody from that era of Dane, Mitch and bradders, you wouldn't dare give anything less than 100%, the badge meant too much

He's right. The club as we know it has gone, there's only us who can save it.

Danny,

So glad the board, manager and players don't have your attitude otherwise we're truly doomed.
Also what decent players would come to this club the way you sell it.

Agree we're limping towards the finishing line but we're only 1 point away from the playoffs.
Still plenty to play for. Football is a funny game, just keep the faith.

Fan Power went 20 years ago.

Do you seriously think anyone at the club listens to what the fans say, or observe what the fans do, unless they are blowing smoke up the arse of the club?

Fan power still can get a manager sacked . It's the last thing we need at this club , but fans I feel will vote with there feet next season .

Also Danny,

You have to be realistic. If this board was as bad as you make out I'd refuse to go.
In fact our gates would be down to 14,000.

The reason why we've averaged 20,000 the last two seasons is because we've shown genuine ambition.
Any club that shows ambition eventually gets a result.

Last season we did an amazing thing for league 1 club.
We went out and spent 1.25 million on The Beard. A player that loves our club and took a pay cut.
He was our inspiration, talisman and leader.

This season we did another amazing thing.
The board paid out massive sums of money to pay off Clough and his crew and bring in the BEST manager at league 1 level. And we brought in a proven striker Billy Sharp again on big wages.

We are the bookies favourites every year for a reason. It's because on paper we've strengthened and have the best squad.

This season we have a massive squad. Whilst ever we keep trying and paying our big money for loans and signings then they'll get my support no matter what.

It's they treat fans with disrespect (like Blackpool and Dave Allen at SW), downsize, put match day admission up to £30, sell all the best players and don't spend it then instead of protesting I'll simply stop going but at the moment I feel obliged to support the investment.

We've spent well in the last few JTW's. Remember we paid big money for Matt Done last year, Rochdales best player.

So I'll wait to see what happens this January and in the Summer.
If there virtually no expenditure then I'll pick and choose the odd match next season
But so far I'm at almost every home game.

Imagine how embarrasing it would be to have fans protesting when we're 7th and a point off the play-offs. Think about the team we played tonight. They have real problems.
Just for a second imagine how embarrassing it would be to be a club who are one of the biggest clubs in England, capable of pulling 30,000 fans, and them being in the third division of English football for SIX years. Playing for draws at home and away against cannon fodder.

Then get back to me about how embarrassing it would be to protest that.

He's right. The club as we know it has gone, there's only us who can save it.

He's got it spot on. The club has no identity left whatsoever. It's a name and a ground and very little else.
The only ones left with any affiliation to the club are us, the fans.

The problem is speaking with a unified voice and being organised.
In the 90's we had B.I.F.A who were very active when Mike McDonald was in charge, but they no longer exist.
The current S.U.S.A who I'm a member of, don't really do much either.

At this stage, it looks like the only form of protest will be in the car park.

Investment? They've not spent a penny. Maguire and the FA cup money more than covered Brayford, and the Murphy sale and League Cup run more than covered Sharp.

They have not got a clue how to build a good side that functions as a team and haven't since Warnock left, so I'm including McCabe in that as the main culprit.

The thing is nobody has the passion or inclination for protest any more.
Who was it that organised this cringeworthy protest?

One of the biggest clubs in England!?

Fuck me the transformation into Wendy fans is complete. "WABAW" indeed.

We can only hope that with a large chunk of players out of contract in the summer, all (if not the vast vast majority) of those will not be renewed and hopefully we can start building from the ground up.
You can hope, but I'm sure that the majority of these contract will be renewed in the summer. Do you really think we will be looking to bring in 8 or 10 new players in next Summer, because that's what we need!

Protesting now? Stupid idea in my view. As much as I hate the position we are in, what will it change? Are the board showing no ambition? No, they've put a lot of money in and they are as miserable as the rest of us I imagine, at least the Prince's side anyway.
If the board were acting like Blackpool, or even Charlton, I'd get it but the faults can be laid at (in my view) Clough's door and the and overloaded squad. Adkins has his hands tied, he can't make an awful lot of difference yet he's getting the flack for the problems which are for the most part, not his fault.
If we win the next game, the mood on here will be oh so different, just as it was before the Swindon match.

D W W W L D W D D

Maybe we could demand more losses and it would as much needed credibility to any protest. o_O
On paper its hard to complain with the recent results, but its more of how we are playing.
I keep saying this every season - its just not very entertaining. We've seem to have given up the energy and decided to play it tactical (scrap out wins/ draws, defend for long periods of time ect), tactics you may expect from the odd game in higher leagues but not the one we are in.

On paper our recent form hasn't been bad. But also, on paper, we're closer to League 2 on points than the Championship. That's the real problem.

I didn't see anyone not give 100%. The effort is the but the quality and sometime tactics are sometime lacking (eg why not switch JCR to the right wing when Woolford came on ?)
