How do we look back on the 2011-12 season?

Never been invisible, all there for folks to see.
I do get the impression though that The Welshman will be the late night subject of many a S2 member's onanistic tendencies.
Only the younger ones surely , the rest of us will have someone to tug it for us

Don't like to dwell on the bad times. Let's all look to the future and keep positive.
Up The Mighty Blades!

Well perhaps Wilson has to shoulder some of the blame for bringing in the wrong cover?
Hoskins arrived with a partial hernia that needed operating on during the close season and aggravated it.
O'Halloran was shit. Can't argue with that.
Was Beattie actually Wilson's signing? If not, whose? Because it was a waste of money. He actually got sent off twice. How many minutes did he actually play for us?

I'd suggest that the combined wages of the three might have been put to use on decent cover for Evans, because there was always a possibility he'd lose his case.

It was poor management, either by DW1, the board, or a combination of both.
Throughout the season we had a good first team but no strength in depth whatsoever. Whenever we were without one of our centre halves, or McDonald, we were shite. And we replaced LJF with one totally useless and one poor left back.

There's a lot we could have done better to mitigate Ched getting sent down, we could have been home and hosed before then.

That said, given Evan's subsequent court case, we were unlucky he did get sent down and the pigs did put together an unfeasible run to catch us. And we should have won the shootout.

Heard Saunders on the radio today saying being a successful manager is 60% luck and considering he's been both a successful manager and a shit one he may have a point.

All of that is said with a massive dollop of hindsight. We brought 3 strikers in, 2 of whom had good track records, and had another 2 on the books. It was bad luck that wasn't enough.

No, not all of it, some of it. Some of it should have been predictable, such as Hoskins aggravating his existing injury and, ultimately DW's job was to sign decent players and in the case of Hill, Williams, O'Halloran he didn't.
As I've said, we also suffered from bad luck.
The combination of the two was too much for us.
