SHEFFIELD United are interested in signing Tottenham's Hossam Ghaly, the Egyptian midfielder's representative has claimed.
Bryan Yeubrey, an FA Licensed Agent, said Birmingham City and Bristol City are also monitoring Ghaly's situation at White Hart Lane.

"I met with Hossam (Ghaly) and he wants to be loaned to a club in the
Championship," Yeubrey told EgyptianPlayers.com.

"He cannot go to the Premiership but wants to play first team football, and he is allowed to go on loan to the Championship right now which would be good for his career.

"A loan offer from the Championship will be on it's way for him.

"A number of clubs are interested but the front runners are Birmingham
City, Bristol City and Sheffield United. I expect a loan offer will come
his way in the coming days."

United, who face Doncaster Rovers in the Championship tomorrow, are attempting to put the finishing touches to a deal which will see Barnsley's Brian Howard move to Bramall Lane.

I'd welcome him, would be a good player for us.

He wasn't great for Derby last season but I'd give him a chance.

He used to play for Feyenoord Rotterdam, good midfielder, creative, strong when he has the ball, but not good in defending. Would be a great player for us.

i think that if Birmingham are in fact monitoring the situation he will end up there. Its closer to london for him

he got subbed by Martin Jol in one game took his shirt off while walking off and threw it on the floor.

quote from wiki

"His future at Tottenham was left in doubt after he pulled off his shirt and threw it to the ground after being substituted during a Premier League match against Blackburn on 10 May 2007. Ghaly had been brought on in the first half after an injury to Steed Malbranque, and rebelled when brought off. The Tottenham fans were left angry at Ghaly's reaction, singing "You're not fit to wear the shirt" and he was disciplined by the club soon after. He issued the following apology: "I am just so angry with myself," Ghaly told the official Spurs site. "I have always considered it an honour to wear the Tottenham shirt and I never intended to show any disrespect".

"I knew things weren't happening for me out there, my play was terrible and I could hear the crowd jeering me. I was so upset at the fans' reaction. I have enjoyed playing in front of the club's supporters all season and I felt I had given of my best all the time and played some decent football. It is always hard to accept being substituted after such a short period of time and I was upset and taken aback by the cheering. I am a player who plays with my heart".

"I know my reaction was totally wrong. I have apologised to the manager and I also want to apologise to the fans. I hope they don't judge me on this incident alone. I have tried hard for the club this season".

Nonetheless, he was not to play for the club again. He stated that he wished to leave Tottenham due to his frustration at being unable to play in central midfield.

He was set to move to Birmingham City for a fee of £3 million on July 30, 2007 (subject to work permit), signing a three-year contract with an option for two further years., however, on August 3rd, Birmingham announced they would not be completing the deal due to Ghaly's objections to Birmingham's training methods, as well as badmouthing Birmingham's players.

In January 2008, Derby County expressed an interest in Ghaly. They agreed terms with Tottenham Hotspur and the player to take him on loan until the end of the season. Ghaly made his debut during Derby's 1-0 home defeat to Wigan Athletic on January 12. After 12 games and the relegation of Derby to the Championship, Paul Jewell revealed he will not sign him as Ghaly wished to stay in the Premiership."

No it was him. He refused to do an endurance run during training with Spurs.

Sounds like he'll get on well with others. i.e. Morgan.

Birmingham were going to sign him before but puled out.

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce decided to pull out of the deal to sign Tottenham midfielder Hossam Ghaly after a training ground incident, according to sources close to the club.
Bruce is understood to have been less than impressed with the approach of Ghaly during a double training session at the club's Wast Hills complex on Friday.

Apparently he 'doesn't do running'. From what I've seen of him, unless his heart is in it, he's a squad player at best, and we've got too many players like that already.

Yeah, thats right he didnt like Bruces training methods saying "well, there different to the ones we have a spurs" and "At spurs we do it like this etc..." i wouldnt welcome him back to blues as i'm sure the rest of us wouldnt after what he's said.
